"Sadly I was looking forward to trying this place and was beyond disappointed by the owners behavior . We were covid carded which was understandable, I was then questioned if my card was made by me lol, there was a gate locked where he wanted to take our temps, his temp reader was broken, we were left outside over 15 minutes in freezing cold weather, he continued to repeatedly say everyone 's sick and run around his restaurant in circles . We are in trying times I understand but if you are open for business do not behave ridiculously and make customers feel like we are committing a crime of some sort. Vaccine cards are one thing, I understand but to accuse us of nonsense then leave customers outside in freezing weather because your temp reader needs batteries, yelling people are sick, and pacing back in forth is beyond silly ! Stay closed if you are fearful don 't spread the fear !"

We arrived at the restaurant around 9:20 PM, even though it was supposed to be open until midnight. However, there was no one inside, and the sign indicated it was open. Based on my experience, I wish you good luck if you decide to visit.

First of all the owner is funny as hell ! Was talkative and very welcoming to us after we passed the temperature gun test haha. Food was bomb, good flavor and a big portion. The vibe was super unique and we loved it. Definitely be heading back there.

This place is disappointing. The food lacked unique seasoning, and the owner was quite unfriendly. He was rude for no apparent reason and had a hard time even providing me with napkins when I requested them. Save your money; Kicken Kasian down the street is far better. View menu

I had a disappointing experience due to poor service and a lack of staff. I initially came here to support a small business, but the owner asked my girlfriend and me to leave because we forgot our vaccination cards at home. I definitely recommend going to Boiling Crab instead.

Previous owner was great! Went back this evening, and the whole experience was horrible! From the start of entering the owner seemed very scared/worried about our temperatures (the only two guest) in the restaurant. Understandable but kind of awkward since the business is open. Food was cold! As we bit into the corn it was cold so bad! Overall $70 for our 1lb shrimp two cold corns Fries that weren't Cajun and garlic bread that was bread. Wouldn't come here again or recommend. We drove 40mins and it definitely wasn't worth it. Wouldn't recommend

The owner was absolutele RUDE !!!! Came here at 8pm, keep in mind, they clearly state on google that they close at 10pm. The owner must have been on his period or must have had a horrible day or something. I asked if I can get the crawfish and on the menu it clearly said it was 35 dollars and he said , “oh it costs 100 dollars “ That’s when I knew that he didn’t even want to take our order. I asked for rice and he said he didn’t have anymore rice. I asked if we can then order shrimp and he said that it would take over two hours. He was clearly trying to make us leave . I don’t ever write reviews but after this , I had no choice . Don’t ever come here . View menu

Not a seafood person but decided to give this place a try since I was randomly craving seafood. Love the ambiance. The owner is super cool! Five stars for master Ma! I'm LMAO as I'm reading reviews from other posters. If you don't get his sarcasm then maybe you should evaluate yourself before you badmouth someone online... on their business page, smh to all of y'all who can't take a joke. Food was delish! Again, I'm not a seafood person so I'm probably not a very credible source. However, I am a garlic and Cajun fan... and master Ma's sauce combination was chefs kisses! Will be back whenever I randomly feel like exploring some seafood again. Maybe when he brings back more of the crab options...

We came by your restaurant today around 5PM but went away empty handed... We rang the bell once waited two minutes rang it again waited another minute. We waited close to 10 minutes rang 5 times) before someone came out. I asked him if there wasn 't a price next to the menu posted on the door, did that mean that choice was not available? The guy told us Snow Crab too expensive! No octopus available, only squid. Blue Crab $25 per pound. Okay, fine. I tried to order the Blue Crab and some fries. The guy was so unhelpful! Was it his first day? He didn 't seem to understand how to take an order or even help us to order. Did we come too early? Were we supposed to order online first? Why was the g...

"EMIE'S RESTAURANT is a busy eatery that is well-known for it's breakfast menu. We went in the evening to try their Mediterranean vegan/conventional menu. Emle's food is light, not oily, salty, or saucy. Our server, Omer, did an excellent job explaining each dish. As an appetizer, we ordered the breaded and fried portobello mushrooms. It was served with a lovely garlic sauce. All four of us enjoy this vegan specialty. I found the vegan vegetable plate to be ample and satisfying. The house-made pita, served with the plate, is delicious. The other guests also enjoyed their meals, however, one guest found the lobster risotto too rich. One caution: the bread dip cantains cheese and is therefore not vegan. There where no vegan desserts on the menu. Covid masks are required for entry. UPDATE: Sam, the new owner, has polished the menu. Not a lot was changed. There's a new chef. Our meals tasted a smidgen better. Sam stopped at our table to make sure everything was fine. It was. We have returned several times since this review was first published. Emie's new chef and Sam have never disappointed. Both patio and restaurant seating are available. Emle's is near California State University. Students and faculty with ID cards, are offered a discount. On Sunday, Monday, and Thursday alcohol drinks are half price. Parking, including wheelchair parking, is free and easy. Everything else, including the neutral-gender bathroom, is wheelchair accessible."

"First, I want to say this review is LONG overdue. Second, I want to say that a few years ago, I realized that eating beef or pork typically causes me severe intestinal distress, so I very rarely eat either. And lastly, it?s imperative to say that I am perhaps the pickiest eater on the planet. My adult sons tell me my food palate is that of a toddler ? I won?t eat, or even try most foods, including eggs, seafood, fish, or foods that look weird or have mushy textures (like mushrooms or tofu), in addition to a litany of other foods, so if I write a positive food review, rest assured, the restaurant, and food, was phenomenal. Months ago, I was invited to Los Angeles, with my friend of more than thirty years, Martha. On our first evening, we went to eat at Buenos Aires Grill with her aunt, uncle, mom, and cousins ? in total, we were a party of seven. All of the food ordered was shared, family style. Since I had heard so much about the restaurant, I knew I wanted to try everything ? and clearly, I (almost) did. Since Martha had eaten there before, and she knows my likes and dislikes, I requested she place the order on my behalf. We started with the empanadas. OH, MY GAWD? THESE empanadas are the ABSOLUTE BEST I have EVER eaten ? EVER? E.V.E.R. and I have lived in Cuba, México, and Spain? The empanadas are sheer PERFECTION? they APPEAR to be fake ? they are absolutely flawlessly shaped and baked? their crust is neither too thin nor too thick. The filling was drool inducing and I, honestly, genuinely, doubted the taste could be improved, but once I topped the empanada with the chimichurri, if I would have died, in that moment, I would have rested in peace as the happiest human on Earth. She also ordered both the Quesos Fundido and Provoleta and the Chimichurri and (French) Bread (baguette) ? I LOVE CHEESE, and French bread, but, once again, I am PICKY ? and skeptical of new foods. Both the cheeses caused my salivary glands to go into elated overdrive. The union of cheese, chimichurri, and the baguette? TO DIE FOR. I don?t know if Martha ordered the Manolo or Buenos Aires Parrilla, but I ate a bite, or two, of each and every single one of the elements. Despite having lived in Texas since 1990, and as an individual who has eaten countless steaks, ribs, sausages, and chorizo, I have never eaten more deliciously seasoned, epically prepared, and perfectly grilled bites of beef and pork. In addition to the meat, the parrillas were accompanied by mashed potatoes, French fries, Spanish rice, and sautéed vegetables. HOLY MOLY ? each side was mouthwatering, scrumptious, delightful. Fearing I would not want to eat the meat, based on the aforementioned explanation, Martha also ordered the Spinach Cheese Ravioli and the Chicken Alfredo? I have eaten A LOT of pasta dishes in my day? I was raised to believe I was 50% Italian (thanks to 23andMe, I now know that is false). In any case, I?m confident t"

"It hurts to say, but this was the most REGRETTABLE food experiences I 've had. My family is against letting food go to waste if no one wants it, at least let our dog or cats have it but we ended up throwing out all the sides to the trash. Sometimes food is okay, could 've been better or just not your cup of tea, but this was downright horrendous and a waste of nearly $85. Just go to Popeye 's instead. I 'm not sure who I 'm more disappointed with: those who prepared the food or everyone that 's been giving this place four and five star reviews. We got fried chicken, shrimp jambalaya, chicken creole, chicken sandwiches, and sides (potato salad, toast, yams, greens, and clam chowder). I enjoy trying new cuisines here in the Valley, but I will not ever come back here even if the food was on the house and here 's why. First of all, we waited inside nearly 40 minutes for our food. While you look around at the Mardi Gras beads on the chairs and decorations on the shelves, t 's hard to not notice the stained floors. The linoleum has probably been like that for a long time, despite how many times they mop, but it certainly makes you wonder what condition the kitchen is in. So what right I thought. A lot of buildings in the valley haven 't been renovated for decades. Plus, its expensive and restaurants have overhead and staff to pay. At the end of the day we came for the food right? Now, the food itself was horrible. If I could describe it with a meme, it 'd be the middle aged white guy saying You 're not that guy pal. Trust me, you 're not that guy. My mom described the fried chicken as lacking seasoning, smelling funky, and tasting like it was fried in oil that had not been changed in a long time. My sister, who had a fried chicken sandwich, also said it tasted like old oil instead of the spicy Creole seasoning it is described as. My brother and I had the Chicken creole and shrimp jambalaya, respectively. It was reminiscent of middle school forcing myself to eat the cafeteria food cause I forgot my lunch at home. Worst of all were the sides (seen in the pictures above). The potato salad? Tasted like mayonnaise flavored whipped cream. The clam chowder? Gerber with specks of clam. The yams? Mush in a light watery cinnamon and sugar syrup. The greens? Salty, bitter, with the stems still on. Even the toast was bad: it tasted like the crumbs at the bottom of the toaster that haven 't been tossed out in a week. We were gonna get mac n cheese instead of yams, but our server said it was not great today, so if this was the best they had to offer....yikes. For a soul food restaurant, the food here has no soul. At best, its mediocre. At worst, just don 't come here in the first place. The food did not taste fresh and lacked flavor. For as long as we waited, you would expect the line to be out the door but it wasn 't. Seriously, waste of time and money."
