"I don’t usually eat out, but I’ve been moving and thinking about cooking has been to stressful. My coworker recommended this place since it’s on my new way home so I stopped in. Going in blind (not seeing reviews) I knew it was a 50/50 on being good or bad but I’m a betting person and I’m glad I am. The three tacos I got tasted amazing, I’m full but could keep eating. It felt pricey when I was paying but I’d much rather pay for something like this than go to a chain and get bad service for below average food. I will be going back and dragging any guests/dates I have in the future. "This restaurant was fantastic! I had the crispy and delicious Boudin balls, and they were a real treat. The crab cakes with their accompanying sauce were equally delightful. My husband ordered the Penne Pasta specialty, which he found to be amazing as well! The gumbo was rich and flavorful, just as a good gumbo should be. If I could rate this place, I’d give it a perfect 10. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes in the near future! The chefs were very friendly and welcoming too."

"Considering the price, the experience was just okay. The chips and queso were disappointing, receiving a score of 3 out of 10 as the cheese didn’t taste very good. The fajita bowl, however, was a pleasant surprise, earning an 8 out of 10 and serving as the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the chicken quesadilla rated only a 4 out of 10 and lacked flavor. We likely won't return, but if we do, it would be more out of necessity, and we would probably only order the fajita bowl. Overall, we rated the food, service, and atmosphere each at 3 out of 10."

"I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. They messed up my order, and the food was overpriced for its quality. I ordered buffalo wings but received plain wings instead, which were overly crispy and had very little meat. I also ordered a California pizza, but what I got might have been a Greek pizza—there were spinach, olives, tomatoes, and feta cheese, but no chicken, which is supposed to be in the California pizza. I also ordered cheese pizza and cheesy bread. Unfortunately, everything was cold except for the cheesy bread. The pizza was just mediocre at best, the wings were terrible, but the cheesy bread was surprisingly good. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place or return myself."

"I get pizza here regularly and I don’t even like pizza usually. Their dough is made fresh and is delicious not that premise, pre rolled dough you get from places like dominos. They have great topping options as well as sauce spread options! We get the wings and those are delicious as well!! I love how they put the sauce on the side so I can sauce them up myself (then I can share with the kids, if I must). I suggest this place often to friends. Also don’t forget to get a slice of their homemade cheesecake! Delicious !!"

"I had an incredible experience! The staff was exceptionally friendly and even extended their hours to make me a delicious bacon cheeseburger and fries after closing time. If you’re in Elgin, TX, and craving a burger, don’t settle for the fast-food chains on Highway 290. Instead, take a turn onto Harris (which leads to Main Street) and look for the yellow trailer. Trust me, it's well worth it! For those in Elgin, be sure to check this place out—it's a fantastic local business that really deserves your support. The burger is outstanding—simply fantastic!"

"Needed to grab lunch today but wasn 't that many options near the office. After some quick yelping, Saw Oui 's not that far of a walk and decided to go give it a try. Lunch lines are pretty long and definitely not much if any parking in the area for it though, so be forewarned. I got a pad kee mao with tofu which I 'm used to having some heat, but for me I think the spice was a bit too much for me. That said, I bring it on my own head to get medium heat, which as far as thai food goes, guess I should recalibrate. The tofu itself is not fried, which I was a bit surprised by compared to other places I 've had the dish but they do give you a lot of the regular tofu. That said, medium is so hot for me that it overwhelmed any other flavor the dish might have had. Normally I finish all my food, but this one I gave up after halfway. So, perhaps it 's a bit harsh judgment but initial impression is meh. That said, I think the price is right and there 's not much other thai food in South Congress. And on the bright side, the lady that runs the trailer is very nice."

"Dining at Puli Ra was a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat soon. We ordered four things off their menu- kid version of roti taco, Dan Dan Noodles, Boudin board and Chark board. The roti taco was just right for our son. Mild yet flavorful, and filled with generous amounts of roasted squash over the roti and egg. Dan Dan noodles do actually numb your tongue with all the sichuan peppers, so make that the last thing you eat. Deepa (chef Puli.Ra) warned us early about this. The Boudin board and Chark board were both delicious. Boudin board was slightly bitter, possibly from the crumbled sausage being lightly charred, but I enjoyed the composition nevertheless. The chark board was a really yummy platter of fish (drum) and rice. Both were well sized portions, and we had to take the Dan Dan Noodles to-go because we were so full. We sat inside Texas Keeper, and both bartenders made for wonderful company. Their dry Keeper #1, as well as off-dry Goldrush paired really well with our food. At the end of the night, after closing shop, Deepa joined us for a while as well, providing us with friendly conversation in addition to the food. It was a relaxing and delicious experience in all, and we hope to repeat it. Extra points for being kid friendly!"
