"I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant, which did not meet our expectations. The place was quite crowded around 5 PM and appeared to be understaffed, which is understandable these days. Unfortunately, our drink order was forgotten. The most disappointing part was that all of us had ordered the whitefish, which had been excellent in previous years. What we received was small, likely frozen, and had an unpleasant taste. Furthermore, we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the salad bar before our main courses unexpectedly arrived. It will be a long time before we consider returning."

"Since the only place in town, it does get a crowd. Food is just ok. Did not like the chicken dumpling soup. Salad had some brown lettuce which was less than desirable. "The Park Falls McDonalds used to be good but the last month or two they suck. Super slow service, like ridiculously slow drive up, some workers that don't seem to even know what day it is let alone get your order right. Ask for and pay for extra oreo in your McFlurry and oh yeah I guess it has a couple specks of oreo in it. After 3 times of this not even going to buy one again. Service: Take out"

"Just moved up here and decided to give the big Dipper a try... fantastic decision. I think my server's name was Brooke, and she was incredible. She was so kind, and had an extensive knowledge of the menu, which was so helpful when ordering. I got the Big Dipper Cheeseburger, which is a build your own burger, and it was incredible. It was barely smaller than the size of my entire hand! And their fries, which were ordered with the burger for only, like, 11 dollars, should have been advertised as a family platter, not a side. The whole plate was overflowing with fries, and they were just as the waitress had described, shoestring perfection. There was also live music, and the singer was FANTASTIC. She had written many of her own songs, along with covers she played, and had such a beautifully dramatic voice, and her skills in the ukelele are out of this world! I will be coming back again!"

"I noticed that my last review was taken down, so I wanted to share my experience again. I returned to this establishment, and unfortunately, it was worse than my first visit. It was very dirty and had an unsanitary appearance, and the service was unprofessional. It's a real disappointment that there isn't a better ice cream shop in town. I'm hopeful about another one I’ve heard is coming, as it would have no trouble standing out if this is the only competition."

"I've never left a bad review before, but this place needs to know that improvement is needed. Wasn't busy but it still took over half an hour to get our first drink. Food took THREE HOURS, and our glasses sat empty for half that time because the server rarely came around. No one was playing the juke box so we sat there in silence the whole time. If we had known the area better we would have gone to Birches near by. Would NOT recommend. Recommendations to management: First, on a Friday night in August having one guy as the bartender and server is insufficient. (Same with having a single cook) Second, you need to invest in a POS system. It took the server a very long time to settle up bills with a pen and paper."

"I started going to Peninsula Pines (Westphals Resort) when I was 8 (I am now 35). We spent a week there almost every summer until I was married. Since I've been married, I've been back four times. This place is really my home away from home. It was also really a relaxing holiday. Without phones or TVs, our time for fishing, swimming, reading and just relaxing. The places, sounds and odours are printed in my mind... from the echo of laughter to the lake and through the trees, to the screen doors, which after entering or leaving the cabins, to the sound of the sand under our sandals, when we went down the way, to the beautiful and insidious reputation of the mood. The smell of the pine trees and the cabins also warms my heart. I hate to even recommend this place, because I never want it to be so booked, we cannot make a reservation. We were last here in 2016. We visited another resort near this last summer. I will say there are pros and cons to any resort in the area and you just have to decide what is most important for you. I have some pictures of our holiday on the Pines Peninsula in 2016."

"This Subway store has been on the downhill slope for quite awhile, and I hadn't been in for some time so figured I'd take a chance as it is allegedly under new management. At first glance, the place was a mess. Dirty tables despite no other customers in the restaurant. The sandwich boards were also dirty, with bits of black olives and mayo dribbled everywhere, as well as a reddish orange film on the cutting boards. This is the surface they are using to make my sandwich I figured the sandwich would be on the paper wrapper, so I decided to continue as I was really hungry and there aren't many fast food choices in Park Falls! The employee who made my sandwich had gloves on but kept rubbing his nose and sniffling first red flag. Then he dropped my sandwich meat on the dirty countertop and proceeded to pick it back up and put it on the bread. That was it for me I told him, never mind, thanks anyway and left. Will NOT be going back to this store! I am considering making a complaint to the state health department about the lack of cleanliness in both the store and the employees. For the higher prices they've been charging for the same old sandwiches, I at LEAST expect my food to be handled properly in a clean and sanitary environment!"
