"I went earlier today because my mother who is in the hospital was craving some soup. Unfortunately, e are 2 hours from home and this was the closest I could get to home-cooked soup she's used to. I walked in and an elderly man was sitting at one of the tables and the establishment was completely empty. I asked for a cup of soup and he said how many orders and I said just 1. I asked if he had some bread that he could also add to the order and he said yes I'll add but has to be cash. I said I have no cash, just card. He proceeded to go on about how it's too expensive for me to run my card for a 8 plus tax bowl of soup. I totally get this as we used to own our own atore and struggled with the cost of running the CC machine but at least give your folks the option to get .50 added to the bill or tell them they could order a few more in order to make it worthwhile. But to lose a sale because of some change is ridiculous. Sometimes getting too stuck in the old school mentality is not a good thing."
