"Totally disappointed. Not sure how this place received even 3.5 stars. The person who took our order was very rude. We had ordered one of their stews, 'ghormeh sabzi ' and the lady told us they don 't have enough left. We agreed to order something else. After a few minutes she came back to tell us that they have enough of it for one order. Later when she brought the stew, it was very diluted and we could tell that they added water to it to increase the portion size. There were barely any red beans or herbs. I have had ghormeh sabzi at other places and I know how the dish tastes and looks. Their portion sizes are also smaller than other place and definitely not worth the price. The tea they had served was also barely lukewarm. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK NOR WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE."

The food quality was very disappointing. While the owner was friendly, the beef seemed spoiled, the roasted tomato was mostly raw, and the chicken was extremely tough.

The meat was tough and overcooked. Some pieces even tasted spoiled, and it seemed heavily seasoned with MSG to cover that up. The tomato looked appealing with its charred exterior, but it was completely raw on the inside. Overall, this is probably some of the worst Mediterranean food I've encountered in the Bay Area.

I had the kabobs at this restaurant, and they were the best I've ever tasted. I ordered the #16 "special for two," and I also enjoyed the dough drink and watermelon juice. The staff member was very friendly, and the restaurant had lovely decor. It wasn't very crowded, but I will definitely be coming back in the future! View menu

house of kabobs is a small nut and pop shop in sunnyvale. they have a small menu, but the kabobs are well marinated, juicy and delicate! Please note that the spice could be something on the heavy side, so be ready to pair with some rice. the humus is also great, smooth, silky and tasteful. I will definitely come back for more kabobs.

I ordered lunch, and it was quite disappointing. It was the worst Persian food I've ever had. It seems the owners are more focused on making quick money rather than ensuring the quality of their food. This approach often leads to businesses failing in a short time. I sincerely hope they start paying attention to the quality of their dishes and prioritize delicious, fresh food. If they do, they could be very successful. Wishing them the best of luck!

I called the day after Thanksgiving to see if the restaurant was open. When the owner answered, his voice sounded so much like an automated message that it took me a moment to realize he was a real person. To my surprise, he immediately started shouting rudely. When I asked him if they were open that day, he shouted back, "Why are you asking if we are open?" I can't comment on the food, but the owner's rudeness is unacceptable. If he doesn't treat customers with respect, I won’t be giving him my business. View menu

A homely Persian restaurant in downtown Sunnyvale. It?s run by a friendly couple. We tried the platter with beef and lamb kebabs, chicken tikka and saffron rice. The meat was juicy and flavorful, especially the kebabs and went well with rice. Thelavash with yogurt dip (with cucumber) was also tasty and the dip also paired well with rice and the meats. Rice was fragrantand fluffy. They have a roasted tomato on the side which enhances the flavor of the dish. Service was quick, meat is halal andportion sizes are large.

Situated in the heart of Sunnyvale, this charming Persian restaurant is run by a friendly couple. We enjoyed a platter that included beef and lamb kebabs, chicken tikka, and saffron rice. The meat was tender and full of flavor, especially the kebabs, which matched beautifully with the aromatic fluffy rice. Their lavash served with a refreshing cucumber yogurt dip was also delightful and paired well with the rice and meats. A roasted tomato on the side enhanced the dish with an additional layer of flavor. The service was prompt, the meat is halal, and the portion sizes were generous.

"Great place, great food. My family and I go here regularly as the rest of them are vegetarian. Merit successfully breaks the stereotype that vegan food protein is missing, and that the only thing that vegans eat is salads and is hands down one of the best restaurants in Santa Clara County. Food: I had most of their menus and it never disappointed me. The variety of specials they always leave something new to try to bring me back. Some of their dishes lack gravity and can be very dry, so if you order more than one dish, make sure that at least one engraving has. My favorites are the Spicy Delight and the Golden era, of which I would highly recommend to get if you have never before in Merit. Your desserts are all milk-free and ice-free, but you really can't say it; my vegan dessert exploits cannot hold a candle to the cakes they bake. However, they are frozen and in a refrigerator in the dining area that I really do not like to see, but at least they are open about it. Service: Service is always fast and all service employees are familiar with the menu. All waiting times are reasonable and I have never been hungry to regret the waiting period. Staff really try to help what I can't say about many of the restaurants I was. The ambience: nothing to complain. Everything is well lit, and there is always enough room to eat. Overall: If you are looking for a vegan restaurant that is slightly different than usual, or just a good restaurant in general, Merit is and always at the top of my list!"
