"we met tan lac vien for the first time last night and were very happy to see an independent vegan section on their menu. the menu has temporary menu printed on both sides, we are not sure what that means, hopefully stay the vegan items. we ordered the vegan broken rice and the vegan bungalow, both came with side and teriyaki tofu. that was amazing! it tasted like ham, smokey and loaded with umame. some of the best since we've ever eaten. we were delighted with our food and service and will definitely be back. highly recommended! a thing that it is worth to see transparence, and although it does not disturb me, it might be a bit disturbing, the room of men was shameful and dirty. that's my only complaint. again I am not a princi, I do not eat in the toilet and wash my hands so it is not a big thing, but some can be shut off. I didn't go to the lady room, but my wife said that the lady room was huge and neat. Conversely, we could see from our sitting in the kitchen and it's a flawless perfection, and that's really important! great rides at tan lac vien for a cool brand new culinary experience. updated from previous review to 2017-07-16"

"This restaurant is fantastic! We ordered the classic pho and bo bun, and we really enjoyed both. I have to give a special shoutout to the rainbow ice with coconut milk—it was excellent and far superior to what you find in the 13th district of Paris. I highly recommend this place, especially since the prices are quite reasonable for this level of quality, especially compared to the restaurants in Little Italy just a few blocks away."

"I visited the restaurant on a Sunday and expected it to be quiet, but it was actually quite busy! The dining room was very welcoming, with a waterfall and walls of water columns with bubbles dancing around. I could tell right away that this place was excellent. I ordered the hot and sour soup, which had great flavor and a good portion size, although it wasn't as hot as I would have preferred. I also tried the spring rolls, which were fresh and had a nice crunch from the lettuce. The special lo mein was one of the best I've ever had, with a rich flavor and plenty of proteins. The server was very friendly despite being busy, and everything was brought to the table at the right time. I can't wait to visit this fantastic place again when I'm in the area!"

"This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in all of Maryland. I've tried several others in Montgomery County, Prince George's County, and Howard County, but none compare. They offer an extensive menu, the restaurant is always clean, and they provide plenty of bean sprouts and herbs with their Pho soup. I really appreciate that they don't cut the noodles; many other places do. Additionally, the broth here is exceptionally clear, unlike some other restaurants where it can look murky, like dishwater."

"My son and I went for some pho soup and it was horrible. I got the chicken broth and it had no taste at all. My son got the beef and he wasn't happy with the flavor either. Had them switch to beef and it was just a horrible. It literally tasted like water and vegetables. I also asked them on both occasions to not put any noodles in my soup and they did. We've been to many Vietnamese restaurants and this is the first place that had the worst broth ever. I will never go back nor do i recommend this place."

"I went here several times with my friend and always had a nice experience – so we came back again and again. we always ate, eating is delicious, and the server (a woman) always seemed pleasant. so it surprised me when my friend and I came in today, our commands gave up to go, then was bruised by the same woman to behave. I was told it was only one per person. I apologized for not knowing because there was no sign to get to know this “rule”. they reacted with “customers should simply know.” note they are seasoned on a table directly at the register for each to grab, there are several cups and lids laid with it, and no sign that “rule” can be assumed that there is literally a freer for all. we ordered over $60 dinge. my friend and I both have a noodle, and we have another noodle. I also have several drinks. whenever we are immersed, all the contingent on each table is free to grip for customers. from this reason I have accepted the same for a To-go order (especially if there are several cups and lids right next to it in total, I have only six tiny containers of gratification. that really brought me back and I can say that I recommended this place a hundred times for people looking for a Pho place. we never had this problem eating. my friend and I like our eating extra spicy and we always go for the chili oil - so I don't understand what the difference is when we just take it and not even as much as we do in the rule."

"I must admit, I haven't tried bo ne anywhere else, so I can't make a fair comparison. However, I may not need to go elsewhere since this spot has been so good, especially as our friends recommended it as the only place they go for bo ne. I usually order mine with pâté and really appreciate the variety of flavors from the skillet. The refreshing salad and buttered bread that accompany the meal are also delightful. My only issue is that they don't serve tap water and only offer bottled options, which I find a bit unfair for Asian restaurants. So, I'll need to remember to bring my own water next time unless I decide to order a specific drink instead. The restaurant is clean, and the service has always been friendly and efficient during my visits."

"The pho was amazing. I enjoyed every last bite and sip of it. The dau hu xao xa dt, or stir-fried tofu, was incredibly tasty. "unfortunately I couldn't taste it. my rating is based exclusively on customer service. my man and I went to lunch while we were shopping, we sat fast because it wasn't busy. the host (an older man,) who sat us, came over and hit the menus on the table without greeting us before he quickly left. which we considered very rude and uninvited. we sat at our table for more than 10 minutes without anyone ever coming to our table or taking our drink order. if it were busy, I would have understood, but there were hardly any protective cartridges. after some time we decided to go. very disappointing when you eat something like your service, then I am glad we have gone."

"Ordered two large pho combos for takeout which came out to $47. Of note they don’t accept credit card but do take debit, cash, and Zelle. The packaging for the takeout was 10/10. Meat was kept cold and packaged separately. Even separating the raw meat from the cooked meats. Provided sriracha and hoisin on the side, onions/cilantro, sprouts/basil/jalepeno, and the fresh noodles. All well packaged and the broth lids were taped shut. Now for the taste. This is hands down the best pho I’ve ever had. Meat quality was far superior to any other pho I’ve had and they give you a good portion of meat. The noodles were perfectly made, tender but didn’t fall apart. And the broth was perfectly balanced with visible emulsified fat so you know it was made with good quality bones/meat. The large portion made two meals for me so the high price tag of $22 was justifiable especially for the quality and taste. Will definitely make the trip back here."
