"Wow! Living in the Midwest I don 't get seafood this fresh and Shells doesn 't disappoint! Our server Bailey, is friendly and personable. She showed true interest in us and helped us navigate the menu to pick the best dishes for us. I asked what she would order and she recommended: Fresh Mahi Mahi Felix topped with jumbo lump crabmeat and roasted red peppers in a lobster cream sauce. Served with seasoned rice over vegetable medley. (Pictured) I was not disappointed, I am still so full an hour after eating while writing this. Thank you Bailey, perfect choice! I think this should be called The Bailey Special My wife got the Baby Lobster Pasta, Succulent baby lobster tails tossed with linguine in lobster cream sauce. She was blown away and the sauce could be a soup! Our son ubered us so we could enjoy the bar, we started off with a Mojito (wife) (which the bartender didn 't know how to make but got it pretty close) I got the house margarita with a sugar rim, very good. We then switched gears to an Island Breeze (AMAZING! Light and refreshing like the name suggests and my drink the Rum Punch was true to its name too as it felt like I got punched in the face rum, not a bad thing! Atmosphere is light and approximately themed, everything looked and smelled clean. We don 't live here, but if we return we will be back! If you read this far please go visit, I 'm sure your experience will be as great as ours. Thank you to everyone at Shells who made our evening wonderful."

"I 'm surprised I liked it. Went here once for a book club meeting; we sat upstairs and I did not order anything. The others ordered what looked like tasty, greasy, cheesy, fatty bar food. I think it was the patatas I saw and was on the fence about trying. It looked like it was too much, but they liked it . Came back another time and tried a hot dog it was pretty good, I like the gluten free bun option and that you can make your own. Very casual, odd location, but there is some parking. I 'm not a hot dog aficionado, I 've probably only ever eaten one out at a food venue in NJ two other times: 1, at point pleasant beach, at that yellow stand in the middle of the boardwalk, where they have the best boardwalk fries and the hot dog there is a footlong and we tried it once and split it 3 ways, but I had to eat it without the bun. And it was good. 2, the cider mill near hacklebarney state park, where the hot dogs and sauerkraut are cooked in the cider or something like that. Also ate it without the bun, and I do like it and try to get there once a year or once every two years. Sometimes, it 's those mediocre, just okay experiences that you may come back for, and it 'll hit the spot. I feel like I should add the health warning: hot dogs are not brain food and may take years off of your life Eating a hot dog takes away 36 minutes of healthy life . Everything in moderation."

"With a high online ratings and recommendations, we decided to try this place for an early dinner today. We ordered online three entrees for pick up...blackened shrimp over grits, fried catfish and shrimp with Cajun fries, and a full seafood gumbo. From the time I ordered (2:55 p.m. , to the time it was ready for pickup (4:15 p.m. was just over 1.25 hours. The subtotal was $46. 1 Not sure why it took this long to prepare my order, plus it was in the late afternoon! By the time I got home, every thing was warm, and the fried items were luke warm. 2 Before leaving the store, I checked my items and confirmed there were 3 items in the bag. However, the seafood gumbo over rice $14.50 was in a small plastic container, therefore, I wanted to double check with one of the staff members that it was not a side order. They confirmed the size was a full sized order! ? Not much seafood after poured over all that rice. Flavor was just OK, I've definitely had much better. 3 The fried shrimp and catfish with Cajun fries $15.75 was a sad bunch. There were only 4 little shrimp and 2 slivers of catfish, but plenty of fries. The shrimp were dry, and I've never seen Canjun catfish so small! The shrimp and catfish were a seasoned with a cornmeal batter, nothing special. 4 Blackened shrimp over grits $15.75 was also small in size with 7 small shrimp. Taste of shrimp was again just OK. Overall, I was disappointed and sadly will not be back."
