"First time there… and we were very disappointed. Food was very sub-par and tasteless. Just very, very bland food. Ate from the lunch menu which was reasonably priced. But, the rest of the food was way overpriced. Taco meat was like sawdust and had no seasoning. Salsa was like a bowl of watery tomato sauce with some Frank’s Hot Sauce stirred in. No texture or substance. Waitress was pleasant, but manager was surly and indifferent to an error with our order. Made no attempt to accommodate. Too many excellent Mexican restaurants here in T-town to spend your money at Don Juan’s. Ventura’s, Loma’s and San Marco’s are all excellent. Also, didn’t like that they checked you out with a handheld machine that didn’t work well … and we never got to see the bill to see what we were being charged. Plus, made me uneasy when the Manager walked off with my credit card … just felt shady. We won’t be back."
