"I went to this restaurant with my friends this weekend. I started with the Tom Kha soup which was great and perfect. I then ordered Thai fried rice and have had it at many places but it did feel like it was missing some flavor. Honestly the drinks were great and they were the highlight of almost all of our meals. The only thing that didn't sit right with me was that the waitress asked if we only tipped 10% of our bill because the services were bad. Now I work in food and if the heart of the matter was wanting to know if the service was bad, tip wouldn't have been brought up. I always tip when I go out but I have never been asked why I tipped what I did and I have never once asked my customers that. I proceeded to ask her if tip was part of her hourly pay and she said yes. So if the restaurant is doing that they should add gratuity to the bill to ensure the waiters and waitresses get a good hourly pay regardless. The restaurant was pretty much empty allowing me to catch up with friends in a very intimate way truthfully. To me It was a charm of the place that it wasn't bombarded with people. If you want to have more foot traffic have more than one waitress, have an option to add some flavor to basic dishes, don't have long wait times when the restaurant is empty and allow for card to tip with 5 and 10 percents options or automatically have gratuity added if you know tip is a essential to paying your workers."

"BEST RESTAURANT EVER. I’m vegan and my girlfriend is gluten free celiac, and this place was PERFECT for the two of us and is a hidden gem for celiacs. The website doesn’t explicitly say it, but the entire restaurant is gluten free but non gluten free folks, don’t worry! Genuinely you will NOT be able to tell. Bread on the Banh Mi was the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had and tasted just like real bread. I’ve been vegan for 6 years now and had crispy tempura shrimp that my girlfriend said tasted just like the real thing! (And it’s made from scratch in house! . We also shared the pork belly Banh Mi which was DELICIOUS meat and the bread was so fluffy and crispy on the outside. Then we had the soft duck bao bun which was great in texture just like the real thing and loaded with a peanut sauce. Lastly we had the eggless stir fry noodles with teriyaki sesame chicken which was sooo good and allowed my girlfriend to have a lo mein style dish for the first time in years! To top it off, our waitress was so sweet and funny and gave us free desserts to end the meal. The cheesecake tasted just like the real thing and was so creamy, and the Flan was so delicious and the first time I’ve had flan since going vegan, which this Mexican reviewer has missed so much! Crime Brûlée was also delicious. Needless to say, Thanh Tinh Chay was the most delicious restaurant I’ve been to, and you would never guess that it meets everyone’s dietary needs. Oh, and the spa water they give you is so fresh and addicting! We’ll be driving back to San Diego from LA just for this spot again.Vegetarian options: All vegan! House made meats including shrimp, pork belly, beef, and more.Dietary restrictions: 100% vegan and 100% gluten free facility!"
