"This is the successor of Mia's. New name and possibly ownership, but else everything the same. Nice albeit inefficiently used space. As before, given the setup, the space has a strong smell of fried oil that will no doubt cling to my clothes, because there is no separate room where the omelettes etc. are made. As with Mia's still sponsored by Boar's Head, which gives an impression of the café not being an independent outfit but an appendage of a corporation. The workers seem rather aloof and alienated from their work and most certainly from the customers. It was also fairly cold on this winter day, but for this I can have sympathy given utility prices these days. In short, I don't feel super-incentivised to return. The hot chocolate is meh, but not the worst out there in the DC area. It was at best lukewarm if not tepid, so I had to ask the staff to put it in the microwave. The muffin was insufferably sweet."
