"Before heading over, I called to confirm that they were open for dine-in, and the person on the phone assured me that they were and that they closed at 9 PM. We arrived at the restaurant around 7:30, waiting for a couple to exit before we could be seated. After standing at the door for about 4-5 minutes, a woman—who I assume was the bartender or host—came over and bluntly informed us that they stop serving at 7:30. My husband pointed out that I had called ahead and wasn’t told about the early cutoff time, which left us both quite frustrated, especially him. It felt unfair, as I had made an effort to confirm the hours beforehand. The way the woman handled the situation was quite unprofessional, and this experience has led us to reconsider whether we want to give this restaurant another chance in the future. I apologize if this sounds harsh—I’m really trying not to be unreasonable—but I can’t help but wonder why a restaurant would close at 9 PM yet stop serving food an hour and a half beforehand."

"We were greeted promptly and seated right away. To start, we ordered the chips with a trio of dips: creamy hot queso, fresh guacamole, and zesty salsa. Each person at our table chose something different, and everyone was delighted with their selections. I ordered the chili relleno entrée, which I use as my benchmark for evaluating a Mexican restaurant. Don Luis did not let me down. The chili was fresh, filled with just the right amount of cheese, and topped with an exceptional homemade sauce. And let me tell you, the Mexican rice on the side is not just a supporting player; it has an unexpectedly amazing flavor! Even after leaving, we continued to discuss how fantastic each of our meals was and how reasonably priced they were. Overall, it was another great experience at Don Luis!"
