"Wow. First time here. Had some people say it 's great food but bad service. I disagree. It 's great food, great drinks, friendly staff, and a RELAXED atmosphere. Does the staff rush around, take your order, rush back with food, etc?? No. They DO take their time with each table, explain specials, ask about your evening, etc. No one is dogging it here. We had a great time, stayed and talked a long time, talked to 2 or 3 of the waitstaff, the bartender, one of the band members. This is a Mexican family atmosphere. No rush, let 's talk. Small store front, the a classic pick up truck in front with a neon OPEN sign in it. Come in to a bar area and indoor seating, band in the corner. Friendly bartender got chips and guacamole with an AMAZING salsa made with poblano, and guajillo, and Serrano peppers, burst with flavor and heat on the back end. Muy sabor! We waited to be seated in the open back area. About 15 minutes, which went by fast with a great band to listen to. Had a cute young lady server (Allison), who gave us the rundown on the specials, and made us fell welcome (as did the bartender in front). We tried a flight of mescal, which is 4 shots of mescal from various regions. Durango, Guerrero, one mixed with Tamarindo, and one I can 't remember (lol). Very different flavors, and fun to try. They also have a huge selection of tequilas. THE FOOD: I had the Borrega de Oro (lamb marinated in tequila cooked in banana leaves with grilled nopalitos and cebolitas. Tender meat, very tasty... with nopalitos on a corn tortilla was delicious. This is great stuff. Classic and well prepared. My friend who would be my gf, had chille rellenos. Traditionally made and very flavorful. Both entrees were reasonably priced and well worth it. Overall I can 't say enough about the experience. If you look at my other reviews, you will see if don 't give 5 stars often. The food, music, atmosphere, drinks, staff and feeling of welcomeness push this over the edge. And I didn 't even talk about the walls covered with kitschy items to look at. The washrooms are clean and omnisex (for use by anyone). Good to see."

"Tucked behind a wall of pine trees, this restaurant has a simple yet inviting ambiance. The outside dining area is adorned by enchanting streaming lights, wooden walls, and vibrant furniture, which all work together to create a captivating space that evokes a scene from a k-drama.The menu offers an eclectic mix of Italian, Mexican, and Korean cuisines. Started off with the fried calamari and bulgogi quesadilla. While the fried calamari was satisfactory, the quesadilla was much better, boasting a satisfying crispy, toasted shell, while the sweet bulgogi filling contrasted well with the tangy dipping sauce. Next, we had the baby back ribs, bulgogi rice platter, and the penne a la vodka. The ribs were cooked well but a bit too sweet for me (my kids liked it). The bulgogi, which was delicious in the quesadilla, didn't work well in the platter, as it didn't taste much like bulgogi. The penne with chicken was a pleasant surprise, as the creamy and rich sauce enveloped the pasta, resulting in a satisfying combination. The addition of chicken added an extra layer of flavor, enhancing the dish's overall appeal. Meanwhile, the arugula salad impressed with its delightful interplay of flavors. The balsamic vinaigrette, beets, roasted mushrooms, and pine nuts complemented each other harmoniously, creating an interesting blend of sweet and nutty notes.Definitely a nice place to visit."

"MAS Tapas y Vino is a very nice, but fairly expensive place in Albuquerque. This restaurant has high aspirations but they are a bit hit and miss. Start with food. The food was very good and creative. The bread plate is the best $6 you can spend anywhere. The dates are phenomenal. The scallops and short rib were both solid but not perfect. The artichokes on the artichoke dish were cooked perfectly and there was a creative, pickled watermelon sauce but there was a bit too much of it. The drinks were solid and there is a creative wine list. We chose a corked bottle and did not send it back. We should have. That was our fault and may have colored the dinner a bit. The service is very uneven. We specifically asked how big the dishes were. The server said Start with 4 tapas and then get a main. 4 Tapas were HUGE and too much food taken together with the bread. So this was a miss. Then we specifically requested that the 4 tapas be spread out. She said Two at a time . I said OK. So, of course, all the tapas and the bread all came out at the same time...and before the wine could even be served. This is simply maddening. So the nice dishes that were meant to be served warm, were cooling on the table while we waited for the wine and ate them in a proper order. Also the restaurant was far from full and there was a sign at the host sign that said Please wait to be seated . But no one was tending to people who showed up. All in all an uneven experience that I would ONLY be willing to repeat because of the dearth of options in Albuquerque. And really, only a few considerations, properly managed, and this place could be phenomenal."
