"Came here for dinner. It was excellent. The restaurant has been completely remodeled and renovated. The Google listing calls this place Los Cabos, which is the name of the corporation which owns it. However the actual name of the restaurant is El Ranchito.The restaurant was well-lighted and very clean. All of the tables and chairs and booths use colorful artisan fabric from Mexico. We were promptly seated and our server was courteous, prompt and very helpful.The menu has traditional Mexican favorites AND several Cuban dishes as well. Tonight we ordered from the Cuban portion of the menu, and the food was absolutely delicious. The chips and salsa brought to our table was excellent. Very obvious that the salsa was freshly made. We ordered croquetas de jamón for the appetizer. Our entrees were pollo en fricasé and masitas de puerco (fried pork chunks). Both entrees were superb and portion sizes were very generous. I also asked for some hot sauce, and a it was indeed hot! It is yellow in color and it will light you up. It was so good.We will come back again and again!"

"I love this restaurant. I went here for my 29th birthday dinner and had a blast! It is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I have been to others in town and it doesnt compare to them. The food is excellent and the service and people are super nice. Delicious food. Very fresh tasting always hot. Lots of seating inside. Good strong margaritas. Reasonably priced especially for the portions you get."

"As Tina Turner sang, “Simply the Best,” so was this restaurant! In Sunday Lunch with Mom fashion, I ordered the Tacos de Pescado La Paz (fish tacos) and mom had the Vegetable Quesadilla. This restaurant understands that you eat first with your eyes and the plating was exceptional! Rarely, if ever, can I say that the food looks like the pictures on the menu, but all plates I saw at our and surrounding tables were exquisite.The taste matched the plating in that it was outrageously good! The swai fried fish was perfectly crispy and warm in my tacos!Our server was also probably the best server I’ve had in awhile. He complimented me on my pronunciation of “pescado la paz”, kept my drink filled, and was very warm and friendly. “Serving” seemed important to him! I appreciated it!"

"We ordered the Tres Amigos on Cinco de Mayo 2024, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. There was no seasoning on the dish whatsoever. The steak and chicken were less than a quarter-inch thick and incredibly bland. To make matters worse, the portion was smaller than what we've received in the past. We left feeling very disappointed, and we've decided that this will be our final visit. It seems that customer service and quality are no longer a priority here."

"One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been with an amazing hometown vibe it really shows the Halstead charm. I've been over 20 times now and they've only messed up my order twice which is an extremely impressive feat to achieve especially during the rush. "Very tasty food in large portions. Service was polite and friendly, but running a bit slow probably because it was Cinco de Mayo. The Chiles Toreados were cooked through and served in a bed of onions. I plan to dine here again next time I'm in Willoughby."
