"This is my favorite restaurant in Raleigh. While I usually prefer higher-end places like Cowfish in North Hills or Midtown, the staff and service at this restaurant have consistently impressed me. I typically rate places 3 to 4 stars, but the welcoming attitude of multiple staff members who come to greet you makes it hard to give less than 5 stars. The food is absolutely fantastic—without a doubt, the best Mexican restaurant around. In fact, they could raise their prices by $2 on menu items because I'm definitely getting more than my money's worth! "Ok let me just say this place was awesome and the food was great!!! They sat us immediately and before I even got comfortable they had fresh chips and salsa on the table and our drinks. We ordered and before we got half way through the chips our food wasout. It couldn?t have been more than 10-15 minutes. Hats off to the waiter as well because he was great. Oh and did I mentionthat inflation must have missed them because their meal prices were good too."

"I absolutely adore this restaurant! The staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. When we were having trouble deciding on a drink, our server suggested their specialty "agua fresca" with flavors like pineapple, horchata, and mango. They were absolutely delicious. The food was incredibly fresh and you could see the care and attention they put into selecting their ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant, 13 out of 10!"

"The food and atmosphere were fantastic, but our waiter took a long time to attend to us. We were there for nearly 2 and a half hours. Not all experiences seemed to be the same, as the table next to us received their food and drinks quite quickly. Overall, I would rate this place 4 stars for service but 5 stars for the food! It was a very enjoyable experience."

"My friend put it best... It 's a step up from Taco Bell. Maybe that sounds harsh, so let me continue. Honestly, the complimentary chips and salsa were delicious... Chips were thin and the salsa was a perfect blend between medium spicy and mild. The margaritas weren 't anything to complain about, but also nothing amazing to brag about. The small size is more of a medium size. While we had ordered Patron, it 's questionable whether that 's what we received. It was okay, but not great, despite the large size. Service was fine, though our server seemed anxious to get us served and vacate the table. Nevertheless, not inattentive, except needed reminding for extra salsa. With a more relaxed server, it would have felt more comfortable to linger a bit longer and we would have tipped accordingly given recognition that the table was occupied for longer than usual. The food... I will speak to my Burrito Texas Tornado with grilled chicken. It was mostly filled with rice and the grilled chicken was very scarce- and not in grilled pieces that I had anticipated but rather in a few squiggly pieces here and there. There was a cheese sauce on top that was along the order of a processed cheese mixture- definitely not authentic real cheese. The guacamole side was pretty good- although not the tableside guac, it was good and seemed fresh, well seasoned. Overall, there was nothing horrible, but nothing that would make my friend or me want to run back. My friend had planned to order a meal for her son there, but decided that Taco Bell would suffice- especially since the server seemed like she wanted to be rid of us. She missed out on the extra order and a better tip."

"The beauty of this place is not in the frames or the decor. It's definitely the staff. I had a mojito. It was made perfect. It brought me memories of when I was living in San Diego. I had Horchata which is often not properly made at most institutions that sell it. It was perfect. I didn't believe the food would match that experience, but it did! The grilled chicken with black beans and all kinds of delicious char broiled goodness freshly cooked, and the flavor is, I mean, perfect! I am not saying this place is perfect. There is no such thing. However, my experience with the staff made the experience authentic and it's what is prompting me to promote them to you, my family and my friends. They deserve a packed house. What a gem. Parking: No issue"

"The easiest way to determine if a restaurant is an authentic Mexican restaurant is very easy. If there are mashed potatoes (and seeds, lol) in your Chile Rellenos, it's not authentic. If your Molcajete does not have cactus and pineapple in the dish, it's not authentic. If your burritos have rice in them it's not authentic. This is just high priced Taco Bell.No respectable Mexican puts rice in a burrito, ever. Chipotle does, but again, McDonalds owns Chipotle.The beef tongue in the BURRITO JAROCHO is just beef. Not tongue. Just regular beef. Same exact beef as in the BURRITOS VERDES which are $9.75 compared to $14.95 for the tongue. (I got both to verify). Yep. True. I felt stupid. But, not my issue. A lot of places do this exact thing.The Mexican Restaurant in Mineral is a lot better, and 1/2 the price of this place.Growing up in Arizona and California, being able to actually drive into Mexico to get real Mexican food, you can even find better Mexican food from street vendors.I think white people must run this place. It's not Mexican. It's White Boy Mexican at best, and overpriced for even that.The salsa Looks and tastes like it came from a jar with a little sprig of cilantro on top. Nice try. A few fresh onions in there, stuck together. Just horrible on the prep side, and delivery. No flavor at all, just tastes like tomato paste with cilantro on top.Very bland, and very overpriced. Nothing about this place separates it from Taco Bell, except the price. $20.00 for Molcajete which at this place, is just Fajitas? In a bowl........ just everything wrong. Drive down the road a bit. There is real, authentic Mexican food in Mineral."

"I have high standards when it comes to Mexican cuisine. While many restaurants in Virginia fall short compared to those in the Southwest, Plaza offers a solid option. Their guacamole is outstanding and has become a favorite of mine. The staff is consistently friendly, and I always enjoy my visits. The food is above average for the area, but if you're accustomed to authentic Mexican fare, you might find it somewhat lacking. Nonetheless, it's still worth multiple visits. "I was very disappointed during my last visit, especially after being a loyal customer for so many years! First of all, the manager, who is usually present, was incredibly rude and unprofessional regarding the issue I faced. My order was incorrect due to the server misunderstanding a simple request. I was really let down by their reaction; every restaurant should maintain a professional and calm demeanor, regardless of any disturbances from other customers. That shouldn't have affected my experience! It's simply unacceptable to accuse a customer and argue over a $13 meal. If the server admitted that he didn't hear me correctly, they should have just remade the dish without any fuss. Unfortunately, I'll be heading to El Patron from now on, even if it means traveling an extra 30 minutes for better service!"
