"We’ve been looking forward to dining at this restaurant for a year, so we were thrilled to finally secure a reservation. The ambiance is charming, and the service was attentive—perhaps overly eager to emulate higher-end establishments, but still commendable. The staff took the time to carefully explain the menu items and were readily available for questions, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations at all! While a couple of the starters, like the sweet potatoes, were enjoyable, most were lackluster. The three main dishes we ordered were particularly disappointing. We were eager to try the homemade pasta, but it was undercooked (it seemed they aimed for al dente but fell short), and the sauces accompanying the pasta were overly salty and not very flavorful. The cod dish was notably bland and did not resemble or taste like cod at all; we even speculated that it might have been tilapia or some other fish, as cod typically has a very distinct taste.
The menu is small and frequently changes, featuring only three permanent items, which can often be a good indication of quality. The staples include Angry Chicken and Rigatoni. There are limited options for veganizing some dishes, and while the portion sizes are on the smaller side, that alone isn’t an issue.
Overall, we left feeling quite let down, especially considering how bustling the restaurant was and how long we had waited to try it. While I want to support local businesses, there are simply far better dining options in the area at this price point, so you won’t be missing out if you decide to skip this one."
