"My family and I have bought food from here many times and it's never consistent. Quality is all over the place. The broth was extremely dark at times, and lighter on others. Same goes for the fried wonton strips, i've had them forget to put any in the bag or only give us one for our entire order. I remember opening a bag and they were floppy and undercooked and the bag was actually sopping wet because the oil they were fried in hadn't dried. For our fortune cookies they've also forgotten to add them to our orders at all plenty of times. Or only give us 1-2. For reference, we order enough food for 3-5 people. We've gotten beef lomaine noodles before and after eating the beef my brother got really sick so we don't order it anymore. Someone else in my family also ordered a dish we didn't usually get and I don't remember what the problem was I only remember offering to cook something else so that he wouldn't be hungry. We actually used to go to a different chinese restaurant but they closed so Moonstar it is. If anyone is reading this to find out if this place is safe to eat/allergy friendly (especially nuts/peanuts) IT IS NOT, of course if you ask they'll say that it is but one ambulance ride later quickly proved them wrong, they're lucky nothing serious happened, that's how people die!! Last time I went here it smelled... bad, thankfully it wasn't that strong but it was similar to the smell you get in a nursing home or your grandma's house, I thought this was weird since restaurants tend to smell like the food the cook so maybe it's one of the ingredients but I wouldn't recommend dining-in if you're sensitive to smells TLDR: food contamination, food is sometimes undercooked and inedible, don't trust the meat here, the restaurant itself smells kinda bad"

"To summarize the food was not good and the service was just ok. I ordered almond chicken, which actually came topped with thin sliced almonds and was served on a bed of lettuce, but the chicken was very greasy looking and the gravy was not quite right. The rice had no meat or egg in it at all, and was bland with no flavor, except that it tasted like it was fried in a dirty wok. They may advertise that it is vegetable fried rice, so I don't hold the lack of meat in it against them; I did not look at the menu before ordering. I am used to the yellow chicken gravy that has a strong garlic flavor, so maybe this is just my personal preference. The almond chicken has a lot of fat in it and was of questionable quality. The chicken also tasted like it was fried in dirty, or excessively used, grease. The rice also had this flavor, so I am seeing a pattern of questionable cooking habits. The egg roll was also greasy but did not taste like it was fried in the same vat as the chicken. However, it was not that good either. It was also bland and even some of my low-sodium soy sauce from my fridge did not help it. Kim's Gardens in Novi was the best, so I am comparing this place to my very high standards. It is too bad that Kim's had such bad owners, and it is probably good that it burned down; although it is tragic that those people had to die in the fire for us to discover that the owners were slave laborers."
