"Just three minutes after we arrived, the bouncer unexpectedly lunged at one of my colleagues, accusing him of flicking him off from behind the counter. We were all taken aback, thinking he was out of line since we had just walked in. We work in customer service, and his behavior was quite embarrassing to witness.
What actually occurred was that my colleague, who is new to the area and had never been to this place before, attempted to open a side door. The security guard rudely instructed him to go around. As my colleague walked away, he noticed a sign indicating that he should use the other door. When another colleague inquired about the situation, he pointed to the side door he had tried to enter, explaining it was still an option to access the building.
Due to him gesturing as he spoke, the security guard, who was seated and watching, misinterpreted his actions as a threat and decided to confront him aggressively. I’m not sure what may have happened in the past to lead this security guard to think it’s acceptable to react that way to someone who posed no threat. This behavior was entirely unwarranted and will certainly be communicated to anyone I know who considers visiting this place in the future. He seemed almost intoxicated given the way he approached my colleague.
I urge management to review the security footage from that night around 11 PM to see exactly what transpired. This behavior is inexcusable. As someone who manages multiple stores in the local area, I find this incident quite embarrassing for your establishment. Just because someone holds a security position does not mean they should let it go to their head.
