"As I approached, I knew I had arrived because their front door is covered in images of their menu items, which made it a little difficult to stick to my decision. I walked past that temptation and approached the counter, where I was warmly greeted and given the rundown on the Fish of the Day and The Stack. With a dental appointment looming, I couldn’t waste time and quickly ordered something I’ve had my eye on: The Italian Job. What a fun name!
This delicious sandwich features Prosciutto San Daniele, Mozzarella, and Arugula on Mushroom Paste and Basil Aioli, topped with chopped Roasted Red Peppers, all nestled in a charming baguette. The bread is solid without being too crusty, making it perfect for holding everything together. I will admit, though, that I had to eat it as an open-faced sandwich due to my recent dental work—it was a bit much to handle otherwise—but it held up beautifully!
Out of curiosity, I peeked under the layers to check out the Mushroom Paste and discovered an additional sauce that turned out to be Basil Aioli—something I love, even if it wasn’t mentioned on the menu, I found it listed online. All sandwiches come with chips, but I didn’t inquire about substitutions. They do offer options like Mac 'N Cheese and French Fries (which can be upgraded for an extra cost) and even the soup of the day, which happened to be New England Clam Chowder today—not my cup of tea.
The seating area stretches to the back of the restaurant, featuring both tables and a long counter bar with a cool industrial vibe, where you can watch your food being prepared in the open kitchen. If you prefer some fresh air, there are a few outdoor seats available, designated for each establishment.
