"In general the food is hot and to order. But honestly I just paid $17 dollars for a burrito that evoked the sense of feet. Ya like straight up licking my grandpas toes- it was that bad. I 'm still suffering as I write this. The Chile verde burrito I ordered (which is a sacred menu item in my family) was too acidic and spicy in general, the pork was mostly fat which is honestly inexcusable for such an expensive place, but neither of those things are why I have a one star review. The cotija cheese, that accoutrements that 's never necessary but very welcomed, turned my absolutely mediocre burrito that would shame my family but they are really nice so they 'd never say anything into STRAIGHT. UP. FOOT TOWN. TOE CHEESE. FOOTBALL. YOU GET IT. I 've worked in foodservice for years, neigh- I 've WORKED foodservice for years. I get it. I know back end and front end. I manage this kind of stuff. So when I called the restaurant to let them know their cotija was super rancid the very annoyed 14 year old kid was like ok thank you and hung up on me. Here 's the deal y 'all- this is a P R I M O spot (hahaha) and honestly their food is garbage. Sorrynotsorry. There 's potential there but gross. The last time I paid 17 dollars for a burrito was at the ritz Carlton in Tahoe- I 'm only saying that because no one ever should be charging 17$ for a burrito unless there 's a huge chip on your shoulder."

"I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Surf Rider Chesapeake. This used to be one of my favorite spots for fresh, quality seafood, but it’s clear that things have taken a turn for the worse. I ordered shrimp and clams with a side salad and broccoli. Shockingly, broccoli, which used to be a standard side, is now upcharged, with the excuse that it 's too big for one side. This just adds to the frustration of what followed. The salad I received looked absolutely unappetizing, as though it had been carelessly thrown together. It was served at room temperature with wilted greens—disgusting and far from the fresh, crisp salad I used to enjoy here. When I mentioned to the server that the salad didn’t look or taste fresh, she was rude and dismissive. She rushed off with it and returned abruptly with what appeared to be the exact same salad. This behavior raises serious concerns about food handling practices at this restaurant. It 's alarming to see the decline in service and food quality at Surf Rider Chesapeake. The management has clearly changed, and not for the better. The high turnover in staff is evident, especially when you see fliers soliciting employees hanging in the men’s room, which was also poorly maintained. At this point, Surf Rider is lucky if I don’t file a formal complaint with the local health department. This was once a place I loved for its fresh, quality food and fair prices, but I’m not sure I’ll be returning after this experience. Very disappointed."
