"The service was not the best I’ve had. Our friends arrived before we did and the waitress soon after we sat down. She took our drink order and after the drinks came she took our appetizer order. Our friends got theirs and about ten minutes later we got ours. I think the waitress had too many tables, because she kept saying I’ll check your appetizers. Our food came, it was delicious! Waitress never came back to see how we were doing and if we needed anything else. I only ate half and asked for a box twice. Again the food was great!"

"I have eaten enjoyed B and B every time I have eaten here but Something is now off. This restaurant used to be the best restaurant in Norfolk, but it clearly has gone downhill. Our waiter seemed annoyed from the very first moment. We felt as if we were imposing on his evening just to give him our order. He could’ve just been having a bad day. Our drinks had to be sent back. The steak was mediocre, and I certainly could have made a better steak at home. The dessert was delicious. A steakhouse of this caliber should always be one point, and it really suffered last night."

"I hadn't been to California Pizza Kitchen in a while (thanks to COVID), but lunch today was absolutely fantastic. The lunch combo was just right—pizza and soup! I enjoyed the Sicilian pizza topped with spicy marinara, Italian sausage, spicy capicola ham, salami, mozzarella, shaved Parmesan, fresh basil, and oregano. My sister had the California Veggie pizza, which was loaded with broccolini, eggplant, cremini mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted corn, red onions, and mozzarella. My niece opted for a classic Margherita pizza featuring Italian tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and Parmesan. The service was exceptional! I'm really glad we chose CPK today."

"If I could give this place a 1.5 rating, I would. It was Thanksgiving and we had reservations. We are a party of 5 and were seated in a corner booth clearly too small for all of us. I asked the hostess if we could move but she said “no, there are other reservations and this is all we have.” Meanwhile, there are plenty of other tables open. After asking 2 more times, we were moved to a larger booth and made to feel uncomfortable with the body language. Oh yes and we were also told that there were on 2 thanksgiving dinners left. Our server was clearly way too busy with other tables. He checked in and took our order, but the attention could have been more. Especially since there were 5 of us. Very frustrating. We ordered some mussels for appetizer. The mussels were not cooked fully and many of them were not open and very slimy/raw still. My 13 year old son deeply cut his finger trying to open one of them and had to excuse himself to the bathroom to clean the blood off his hands and clean his shirt. Not necessarily a great start to dinner. The mussels were sent back and after waiting 45 minutes, they were prepared properly. We all ordered our food, including my order of the 40 ounce ribeye. The ribeye was very chewy and not necessarily tasteful either. The side dishes were cold and we rarely saw our waiter to complain. By then, we wanted to just eat and get out of there. I didn’t want to cause a scene in front of my family especially on thanksgiving. When our check came, an automatic 20% tip was added. This was a very expensive meal for 5 people and I feel as if I could have gotten a lot better somewhere else. Very disappointed all around. This place is overpriced and overrated."

"We are not newcomers to this gem, but haven 't been since prior to COVID. We returned for lunch today with friends we hadn 't seen in over a year. It was exquisite. With only the owner present and 3 parties of four we were one) , the service was spot on. And the food???? Perfection. The focaccia teaser had me wanting more than the perfect bite. Between the four of us we had the beet salad such a lame description for this perfect summer blend of beets, blue cheese, fresh greens and a delicate vinaigrette), the Virginia black bass served whole and cooked perfectly, flaky and light) and the salmon with a sumptuous lemon risotto. We finished with the chocolate coconut torte. Organic does not mean tasteless or bland. This was a deep dark chocolate, not overly sweet, but rich with the coconut adding the additional punch. My table mates enjoyed a wonderful French white, while I was totally impressed with a very simple, extremely good margarita or as I like to call it "2 shots of agave blanco, a nice squeeze of lime juice and a few drops of simple syrup) Thank you for a wonderful lunch! We 'll be back sooner rather than later."
