"It was our first time eating at the Opry Backstage Grill, and I 'm sure not the last. We had an early reservation which made the restaurant less crowded, but as we sat there over for 1 1/2 hrs a fair amount of people began strolling in. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We started with a couple of margaritas, but their base syrup was way too sweet. We then ordered a bottle of red wine picking from 3: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Merlot. Our waitress allowed us to sample all 3. The Merlot is what we chose. My wife ordered a garden salad and the salmon entree ', while I ordered the wedge salad and chicken finger dinner. With some time passing I should have inquired, but our salads and dinners came out at the same time. However, we were not disappointed as the food was tasty, but we would have preferred our salads first. I noticed another patron ordered a plate of chicken wings which looked mighty tasty, which is what I plan to order the next time we go there, and also the pecan pie and/or Dolly Parton 's banana pudding. At the time there was no live entertainment, but they have past performances at the Opry being played on 3 large screens. I asked our waitress if she performed any on the stage, which she doesn 't, but she did get one of her co-workers to sing and play guitar for 2 songs. So, we did get some live entertainment, which was nice. Overall we had a fun time and a good dinner. I did read a few not so favorable reviews in the past, which some may be legitimate?? But, I 've also learned that there are some people that not even Jesus could please! Thus, I would recommend the Opry Backstage Grill to anyone. It was very convenient too, as we were attending a concert at the Opry House."

"I badly wish I could give this place a good review, but after the experience we had, I can’t in good conscience suggest this restaurant to anyone.I am a business owner and my family and I have owned restaurants in the past, so I speak from both perspectives. We reserved a room for a surprise birthday dinner, and understandably gave a card to hold the reservation. All 15 of us showed and ordered appetizers, meals, and drinks. Some steaks came out way undercooked (ordered med well, came out rare) and the server made countless mistakes. All that could easily be forgotten about, however the owner instructed our server to add a $250.00 charge to the bill (see OTHER in the photo).Fortunately, the bill was reviewed someone in our group caught this mystery charge. To make matters worse, gratuity was also calculated based on this OTHER line item, at a rate of 20%, bringing the total bogus charges to a whopping $300.00.We questioned the server on this charge, and she explained she had never been instructed to add this to a ticket before. We asked to speak with the owner, who is right in the next room mind you, and the owner completely refused to discuss this charge with us and instructed the server to just take it off the bill.My concern for others, who may be reading this review, is that you may not read your bill line for line and fall victim to bogus charges you should not be responsible to pay. With business, integrity is of the upmost importance when you lose trust for the owner of a restaurant, how can you ever justify going back? How can you encourage others to dine at a place that wants to rob their patrons? What are the steak is good or not is irrelevant, what matters most is whether the customer is appreciated and enjoying the dining experience. They should never have to look over their shoulder to see if they are being taken advantage of or played for a fool. Our party never received an apology, and let me say that a $250 hold placed on the card is one thing, but the restaurant should never charge you for showing up to your reservation and spending a substantial amount of money. Our party average approximately $75 per person, tell me, is there a need for greed when your establishment is doing those numbers?Thank you for taking the time to read my review, and I hope that if you do find yourself dining at this restaurant, you’ll do your due diligence to make sure this owner doesn’t deceive you of your a hard earned money.UPDATE: As a business owner, I’ve never penalized my customers for spending money in my establishment(s). There was no convenience to the private room; in fact, we had terrible service with countless mistakes, an owner watching us from the next room (one of our party members was familiar with the owner having met him several times before and was able to see him in the next room watching our party during the discovery of this mystery charge), and then refusing to speak with us about why we were being charged. No one will be back again, and several of us spend a substantial amount of money at restaurants and have a large sphere of influence. The bottom line is this; appreciate your customers; they are who keep you in business. When things inevitably go wrong; address them promptly and with a desire to rectify the situation. Your behavior and manner of handling customers will ultimately drive you out of business."

"We came here after seeing it on a rerun of Diners DriveIns and Dives (Guy Fieri is my soulmate). I got the crunch burger (cheeseburger with a house made pork rind on it), because i saw it on the show but it apparently is a secret menu item (hasn’t been on the menu for years but you can tell order it). I asked for one patty because two is plain carnage, in my opinion. I’m glad I did because there was no way I would have fit a double burger that size in my mouth without removing my mandible. It was delicious!!! So so good. Fries were amazing. The burger was so so messy haha but that’s no big deal. I did find that the pork rind was chewy and unpleasant towards the middle of the burger due to the juices and sauces making it not crispy anymore. My husband got the combo platter (sliced brisket and sausage) with Mac and cheese and fried okra as the sides. The brisket was actually some of the best I’ve ever had. The sauces on the table were so so good. The Mac and cheese and okra were good, but was outshined by everything else for sure. The star of the show was the sausage!!!! So smoky, seasoned to perfection, texture was perfect. I could come back daily for that sausage. We also got the cheese fritters to start and they were gooey heaven. Served on honey mustard which may not be your go-to sauce for fried cheese but it was AMAZING. they also serve pork rinds for the table for free and they were good. Pork rinds 7.5/10 Cheese fritters 8.5/10 Crunch burger 8.5/10 Fries 8/10 Brisket 9/10 Mac and cheese 7.5/10 Okra 7.5/10 Sausage 27/10 (Guy fieri if you see this i love you so much)"
