"You can definitely taste the smokiness, especially in the pulled pork, though it's not overpowering. The sauce is on the mild side – sweet but not overly spicy, which I don’t mind, though I would have preferred a touch more heat to balance out the sweetness. I found the pulled pork sandwich needed a bit more sauce, as it was a little dry for my taste. I wanted to try the brisket as well, but unfortunately, they were out of it today.
As for the sides, the potato salad was decent – not too vinegary or mayo-heavy, but it could use a bit more seasoning and was on the sweeter side. The beans were flavorful, but had an odd rubbery texture, like cooked barley, along with something grainy that I just couldn’t identify.
This place is a stand without seating—though some picnic tables would be nice, it might not be allowed in this location. It wasn’t an issue for me since I just took everything home to enjoy later.
Despite the mediocre sides, I’m definitely planning on returning because the meat is the star here. Next time, I'll focus on the meat and consider adding a kick of heat to the sauce!"
