"Price is probably the biggest thing going for Joey's, it is very fair. The food is alright, nothing to get super excited over. Ever since the fries went from shoestring to crinkle cut I feel like everything I order has gone down hill in quality. Service is completely fine in my experience but the food is not great. The fries now taste a lot like oil that's gone bad, and the burger buns seem to always be so wet that the center becomes a paste. I don't know about anyone else but that mushy texture makes me gag. Overall it's mediocre. If you're eyes are bigger than your stomach, bear in mind that a little bit of food here goes a long way, so stick to small portions."

"I do some work for a local management company, and I make it a point to stop by this restaurant for a bite whenever I'm in the area. The decor features vintage Chicago images alongside Aegean and Greek landscapes, creating a fun Chicago atmosphere without feeling cheesy. The staff has a great sense of humor and a hint of that old-school Chicago charm. I always order the hot Italian beef because, honestly, it's simply the best. It's loaded with spicy peppers, cheese, and flavorful beef that tastes amazing. I usually ask for extra juice on the side, as I love soaking my sandwich. The fries are crispy and delicious, too. My coworker tried the cheeseburger today and couldn't stop raving about how good it was at work. My boss frequently orders the gyro—about twice a week—because he insists it's "da bomb." As a lifelong Chicagoan, I've grown up with Italian beefs and Polish sausages, but this place stands out. Be sure to check it out and tell them Mike sent you… it probably won’t get you anything, but you can say it anyway!"

"The restaurant is in a great location, and the hostess and waitress were incredibly friendly. Unfortunately, that was where the positives ended for me. I tried the three dip sampler but was disappointed with all three dips. The baba ganoush lacked any smoky flavor, and both the tzatziki and hummus were bland—considering that Garlic Capitol is just a few miles away, I expected more garlic flavor. I was genuinely shocked that none of the dips were noteworthy. Hoping for a better experience, I ordered the gyro plate. While it had a homemade look and taste, it unfortunately seemed like the meat had been sitting in the bottom of a warming pan for too long, as it had a greasy flavor and didn’t taste freshly sliced. Given the positive ratings and the friendliness of the staff, I’m willing to believe that I may have just had an off experience. However, having tried four dishes with none being impressive, I can only hope that others have a better time here."
