"Not overly satisfied with my meal, but it wasn’t bad either. I asked for my pancake to be cooked longer and for it to be crispy. I was really craving a delicious pancake because in the reviews I saw someone mention how great their’s was and it was cooked exactly like I wanted asked for, but I received a regular pancake that tasted pretty basic when I could have got the same flavor and taste from a pancake at a fast food restaurant. Not what I was expecting for home cooking. The eggs tasted as if they were seasoned with water.. not tasteful at all. Thank God my to-go had some salt and pepper packets, so that fixed that issue. My favorite was the hash browns.Also, the service was good. I ordered to-go, but lady upfront was nice and attentive, and my food came out fairly quick.I’ll probably give Jay Jay’s one more try and if it’s better, I will come back to review."

"This restaurant is absolutely stunning, and our waitress, Alena, truly made our evening special. The service was exceptional! She was both friendly and attentive without being overbearing, managing to find the perfect balance. The brussels sprouts were the highlight of our meal, but everything we tasted was delicious. At first, the portion of the BB Queterie seemed small, but it turned out to be quite generous. I ordered the catfish, which was fantastic. The booth seating was comfortable, something that can be tricky for shorter people, so we were pleasantly surprised. We're looking forward to our next visit when we plan to try breakfast!"

"My sister recommended this bakery since she purchases cakes here a lot. I live out of state but was celebrating my 30th birthday with my family in Dallas. The original cake was most likely the “real” deal but the remake is a box cake. The cake is not worth the $137 I paid. The bakery offered to remake the cake because they stated that it was a hard cake to keep upright and it was damaged sometime between me picking it up from the bakery and placing it on the counter at my sister’s house. I was originally planning to keep the original cake as it was, but I didn’t get a picture with it before it was damaged. However, I did have the opportunity to taste the icing. The icing was so delicious so imagine my disappointment when I tasted the remake cake. I did make sure to take a picture with the remake cake at the bakery before leaving. The icing tastes stale and the cake taste like a box cake with added ingredients. My sister stated this cake is not Cretia’s best. At this point, I wish I would have kept the original cake because it would have been much more enjoyable to eat just based on how the icing tasted. I would have appreciated it more had Cretia’s allowed me to keep the original cake instead of offering to remake it if they couldn’t make it taste as good or better than the original."

"I absolutely love everything about Front Porch. From the live music to the bar, the crowd, the staff, the food, and the prices - it's all fantastic. I especially enjoy their brunch. I had the egg white omelette with delicious goat cheese, and it was probably the best omelette I've ever had. My boyfriend tried the traditional eggs Benedict, which was also amazing. The ham was thick and delicious, and the eggs were cooked perfectly."

"My girlfriends and I were hoping to have a cute brunch at the Old Vinings Inn after wedding dress shopping to celebrate a good friend’s engagement. We were minutes late getting seated despite having a reservation. We then got seated at a table that was so sunny multiple girls had to wear sunglasses during the meal and were uncomfortable. When asked if we could switch tables, we were told no despite there being multiple open tables in the restaurant. Then, our food was late getting out. When it did get brought out, one meal was missing completely. When the meal was brought out several minutes after everyone else’s, it was missing multiple food items so we had to wait for those to get brought out as well. At the end of the meal, the staff did not do anything to remedy the situation for us except a short verbal apology. We love this restaurant and typically like coming here however we had a very poor experience this go around and likely will not be going back."

"We had the ice first. It was really delicious. Every taste we tried was wonderful and it was hard to select our favorites. My sister and mother had the lemon while I had the blackberry. We enjoyed it very much. After that we tried the chocolates, and I can see why this place is known for them: they are amazing! We had only one piece ahead, but we bought the whole pound and sold half of it."

"Fantastic Seafood!! After being disappointed at many different restaurants in Charleston closing early, I had almost lost hope with finding a good place to eat on our vacation. We showed up at 8pm on a Friday night. Our server, Amber was friendly and happily helped us choose great options that my son could eat who has a shellfish allergy. Our dinner came to the table quickly and piping hot! Our orders were accurate, our cocktails were strong and tasty and the shrimp and crablegs were AMAZING. Everything was seasoned like it should be, all was fresh and the temperature was hot. These people know how to make seafood!! We left full and satisfied. Very happy to have a great experience here in Charleston!"

"While I say yes to referring people to this bar. As it has a unique and fun atmosphere, the night we were there (with a reservation) the place was packed. Service was so slow. It took 30 minutes to get a drink and an hour to order food. Then over an hour to receive the food. The food itself was mixed in review. The salad was perfect. The chicken tenders and fries were worse than kfc. Drinks fairly priced and a good variety. So why recommend this? Not for the food. Not for the service (servers were perfect in their friendliness and attitude, just obviously overwhelmed and understaffed. I would recommend simply for the ambiance and the music. Live Piano and singing was straight out of a Billy Joel song (you know the one). So if just for drinks, it’s a hit. If for food. Be patient. Very patient. And cautious of what you order. They have a ways to go in my humble opinion on the food. But again, as I said the salad was amazing."

"This weekend, I had the pleasure of tasting the best empanada I've ever experienced—the chef's special Buffalo chicken. It was fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor! We also ordered the short rib with sweet potato hash, mushroom risotto, and lobster ravioli, and everything was outstanding. Our drinks were expertly crafted, and we were fortunate to have the most wonderful server—she was sweet, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food. I just wish I had caught her name! I can't wait to go back and sample more of their dishes. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed, which enhanced the overall experience!"

"The best part about this place is it does overlook the runway.. the pancakes were ok. The bacon did taste good. The hash browns were mediocre and the cheese grits were so watery and flavorless even with salt added. The coffee was ehh. The server was niceuntil I left. She gave me my check and I went to the front counter to pay and paid. Tipped over 20%.. as I?m walking out of therestaurant she literally runs up to the front counter that is now behind me and said did you pay?!? And checks the basket ofchecks at the counter to make sure I paid.. made me feel like she assumed I was a thief and would dine and dash!! I wish Ididn?t tip her over 20%? will certainly not be back"

"I loved my whole experience here. Nice bar and wine list. I ate on the upper outdoor deck. The menu was unique. There were a couple of vegan options and the chef was willing to customize my menu choice. The desserts are nothing short of amazing! Update post renovation: I had a mediocre experience. I called to make reservations and was told they do not take reservations for under 8 people but that I should call ahead at 5:00 to get on the call-ahead list. But every time I called, they hung up on me. I arrived at 5:30 and was told there would be a half hour wait. So, there are some inconsistencies here. No problem, my friend and I waited at the bar. But when our table was ready there was a disagreement among the staff about which table was ours. There was a reserved table for 4? I thought they didn't take reservations for less than 8). They really need to work out these kinks. The wine was decent. I had the salmon and it was good. The atmosphere is very noisy because there are too many hard surfaces. I really liked the coziness before the renovation. I still like Olive's and will still dine there occasionally; however, I miss the cozy, neighborhood vibes that used to make this place truly special."

"Our experience wasn’t great. It started with a sticky wobbly table and menus. Then the waitress handed us her dirty phone to look at tequila choices they had and it kept flipping to personal inappropriate photos of herself. The app took way too long and when it arrived our meal came 2 minutes after. The grouper had a very weird sauce that tasted like chemicals. All sides had way too much sugar in them- baked beans/cole slaw. Dessert was good but small for the price (peach desserts). Then went to ladies restroom where someone had thrown up and instead of cleaning it up, they hosed it down with water and put a wet sign and left it, the smell was awful! Staff wasn’t busy, they chatted about next days shifts and such could of easily taken care of the bathroom. The hostess was lovely and on the ball, she was eventually running food orders! Live music was great."

"Are you stuck in a hotel for the week? At least you won't go hungry here. The beef is quite tasty, although the kitchen might need a little guidance on what "rare" really means. The shrimp and grits are enjoyable, but they might not set the mood for a romantic evening. A bit of sausage mixed in could spice things up. I've also heard that the black-eyed pea medallions could benefit from a dash of Texas Pete. And don't miss out on the strawberries that come with the vanilla ice cream cake; they are definitely a must-try!"
