"My wife and I have eaten here for the last 3 years or so, and this is THE best place for breakfast in Daytona. It has been there 82 years. The bacon, eggs, grits, and coffee are VERY, VERY good, and priced very low. It is run by an older, genteel Greek couple, and we love our waitress, Barbie, who is very helpful and gregarious. She says that when she was 12 years old in Tampa, she used to jump alligators with her bicycle! Compared to the other Daytona packed, loud, and expensive breakfast places, the Gateway is very quiet, and most customers are older tourists and older local people and some young people. Yes, the tables and chairs are old and old style, BUT, to me, that just adds to the charm of the restaurant!"
