"All I can say is WOW!! This restaurant brought me back to my home island. The alcapurria was outstanding, empanadas were perfect, sorrullos were delicious, and the rice and beans were yummy! Everything tasted like it was made with love. I am thrilled to have found a restaurant that truly captures the flavors of our islands. I have been a loyal customer of Island Empanada for many years, but decided to try this place and they exceeded all my expectations. I will definitely be ordering again!"

"Amazing food! Everyone loved everything they got to eat! And extremely nice staff!Kid-friendliness: There was not a specific kid menu but the portions were huge and we were able to split both our meals with our 1 year old. And we still both had leftovers. Also our child is pretty picky (like they all are) and she kept saying yum everytime she would eat a bite and oh wow!"

"If you 're on this end of town and looking for breakfast or lunch...and/or want a home-cooked type of meal, then this is your place. The sign on the outside says Not your average Hole in the Wall and that about sums it up. Nothing fancy, just good service and a good meal. The prices for the portions are fair and spot on. The place gets packed, so pack your patience during these times because it may take just a little longer than normal. There is outdoor seating sort of ...it 's like an enclosed porch and there is indoor seating as well. They have a private parking lot too. It 's where the locals go!"

"I was very disappointed with the experience I had during a phone conversation while trying to plan a corporate Thanksgiving dinner with a Puerto Rican flair (yes, I am Puerto Rican). I initially called the location on Fullerton Ave, but their phone wasn’t working, so I reached out to the Harlem Ave location instead. Unfortunately, the person I spoke with was not very helpful. I explained that I was trying to contact the other location, but all he said was that if they didn’t answer, it meant they were busy. I reiterated that their phone was not working. "

"Great service from Brenda and the other girl, and her beautiful mother and staff. Once I go into them, they recognize me with a welcoming voice, sound and bring some delicious curtido and salsa. The pupusas are so delicious, they are fresh, hot, not greasy as many other places, MANY made various choices of pupusas and they are quite flexible they can also mix, they yucca, pastelitos, ALL their food flavor amazing. I moved here from Long Beach and I was looking for a restaurant like this that offers delicious and tasteful food. Thank you for your staff. Julio Diaz."

"I visited this place for the first time, and it has a nice atmosphere for enjoying some drinks and dancing. As a Latino, I probably wouldn't recommend it to other Latinos unless they're fans of R&B and hip-hop. However, after spending two hours at the lounge, I discovered that they actually play a variety of music based on requests. The beats are great, and the dance floor has a lot of bass!"
