"I've always greeted her with a smile and used polite language, and during our last visit, I even expressed how excited we were to find a Chicago's in Columbus. However, her response was to thrust the receipt at me, tell me to sign it with a scowl, and an unpleasant tone, before turning away without another word. Normally, I’m the type to leave a tip of 40-50% for carry-out, knowing that many people overlook that, but I just can't justify that here after the way she has treated us.
If she’s unhappy with her job and feels the need to take it out on customers who are polite to her, she should consider working in a different field rather than customer service. This occurred on three separate occasions at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 6:45 p.m., so it wasn't near closing time or anything like that. I've also been quick to choose my orders and kept them simple and consistent each time. Given this experience, we're uncertain whether we’ll return or if it might be better to find another place to eat."
