"We ordered oxtails, white rice (which the server retrieved from the back, only to warm it up in the microwave), and steamed vegetables, all of which were incredibly disappointing. The oxtails were poorly seasoned and definitely not worth the $22 price tag.
Next, we tried the Escovitch fish, rice, collard greens, and steamed vegetables. The fish portion was tiny and very dry, while the rice and peas were overcooked and missing the rich flavor of coconut milk. Overall, the food lacked the authentic Jamaican flavor we were hoping for. The jerk chicken was disappointingly oven-baked and also lacked the true Jamaican seasoning and flavor we expected.
It was clear that the food was not fresh; it was plated by the server in aluminum pans and then reheated in a microwave. Overall, the entire meal was bland and unappetizing. We were not informed about the individual prices of the dishes and only given the total cost of our order, which came to around $60 for three plates of unsatisfactory food.
I would rate this experience a firm "0," as one star feels way too generous. I do not recommend this restaurant for authentic Jamaican cuisine; it’s simply a waste of your time and money."
