"The food at this restaurant is consistently excellent, but there's a significant problem with the number of flies inside. These flies can carry diseases and pose a health risk to customers. During my visit yesterday, there were at least 5 to 7 buzzing around our table. I had to swat them away from my food multiple times, and it seemed like the staff didn't view it as a serious issue. This is something that urgently needs to be addressed! Some may brush it off as "just a fly," but the concern is much greater. Flies can land on dirty surfaces and transfer harmful pathogens to our food. I sincerely hope that no one ends up getting sick from eating here. Please take action to fix the fly problem."

"I have been a loyal customer for quite some time and have never had a negative experience with the food or the staff. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the staff is always accommodating. This is the only restaurant I will go out of my way to visit from Freedom Hill just to order the Kaldo. The Queso is also enjoyable, with a mild heat that never overpowers the flavors. I have always received excellent service here, and despite the occasional language barriers with my children, they leave each time feeling happy."

"I really don’t understand the hype around this restaurant. The salsa was just okay, but unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. The chicken fajita tacos were served cold, soggy, and quite disappointing. They didn’t even feature real fajita chicken; instead, it was just seasoned cooked chicken with a few sautéed onions and peppers. The black beans looked more like guacamole. Although the service was good, the food fell short of my expectations. I might think about giving it another shot, but I’m preparing myself for more disappointment, just like my last experience. I seriously doubt I’ll be returning, and I still feel just as hungry as when I first walked in."

"Absolutely delicious!! The atmosphere is great with the authentic furniture, tile work ,music and food. Oh the food...its so good. I've included pics of the menu so you can view the amazing meals and prepare for your visit. Come by land or sea. There is docking right outside on the canal for your boat. You can also bring your dog for outside seating only. There is also dining inside if that is more your thing...its so pretty inside. Even the bathrooms are well decorated and clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. Cold beer, wine or mixed cocktails available. We really enjoyed ourselves. Such a great place."

"We had a party of six and received horrible service. We had to ask several times for our drinks, to place our order,…. the waiter would disappear and only returned when my husband said something to the young man who delivered our food. The waiter was timely in delivering our check though since it had a built in 18% gratuity (party size). We are ALWAYS an above average tipper but I would have left $0 if we could have. The food was average at best. The karaoke was SO LOUD you could not carry on a conversation."

"**UPDATE 3/8/22:** I don’t know what changed, but we returned recently and were pleasantly surprised by a wonderful meal. We’ve been back twice since, and it has been consistently delicious with great, friendly service (Thanks, Nadine!). Great job, Grasshopper! **UPDATE 6/17/22:** We’re still enjoying great food and service. What’s truly impressive is how quickly the kitchen gets hot food out, even on a busy Friday night! I wish more restaurants could manage that. **Update 9/26/22:** It was the night before Ian, and all through the house, everyone was bustling about, and our stomachs were rumbling. Off to Grasshopper we went to see friendly faces and enjoy delicious dinners, a perfect way to hold us over while the winds rattled outside. So, fly away Ian! Leave us in peace; we want plenty of queso, guac, and chips! P.S. No tequila was harmed in the making of this review, but everything was fantastic! **Update 3/17/23:** We had a wonderful dinner tonight! It was a bit quiet since it was St. Patrick's Day, but the management decided to play some old-school disco music, and it was a blast! **Update 9/4/23:** Another fantastic dinner with terrific service and staff! **Update 11/22/23:** See above, still great!"

"This is a lovely restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hosts and the food runner were wonderful and attentive. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the server named Pedro. His attitude was off-putting, and his conversations with other staff members were hardly appropriate for a family establishment. On a positive note, the food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance is very pleasant with reasonable prices. Overall, I will definitely return on my next visit to Destin."

"management is rude to gas. eating is good, service is great. hostess, bartenders, server, busboy are all very helpful and polite. the older shorter manager is strange to hospitable, not polite. there is a younger higher man with tattoos on and off his poor. These two are either not hostile or hostile to the host. it is no longer convenient to go there. "I have to say i have been here now 3 times after moving to this side of town. First couple of times no problem. This time was the exception. I place my order online Milanesa (Breaded skirt steak rice and beans salad and a couple of tortillas. Normally pretty good. I order this on my home from work today, pick up my order in my tied up bag and drove 10 min to my house to enjoy my dinner. Open to order and to my dismay only thing in there is my steak and my complimentary chips and salsa. I call the restaurant and explain the situation and was told i could come back. So inconvenient yes , but it happens. I drive 10 min back up to the restaurant and explained the situation again waited another 5 min and they bring out another tied up to go bag and it yet again is just another steak but not the complete order. So the hostess apologizes again and goes back into the kitchen to explain the mix up. Upon her coming back out and informs me that it will take a few minutes. At this point i ask can they just remake my order as of this point i don 't want a cold steak with warm rice and beans. The hostess then stuns me by informing me that if i wanted that they would have to charge me again to make me another one! I asked if she was serious in wanting to charge me for their mistake, she informed me that was their policy. Whether that 's true or not or maybe she mis-spoke or maybe she didn 't but i am the manager of a very successful business and if myself or any member of my staff made an honest mistake we would apologize and do anything in our power to make it right. Rather than make a scene i take my now completed order and drive another 10 min back to home and try to enjoy my now approximate 40 min cold steak and warm rice and beans. That tasted about as good as you can imagine. That being said i will no longer frequent this restaurant. If you can 't solve a simple mistake you don 't deserve my patronage."

"I absolutely love this restaurant. It's a fantastic spot to be a 'regular.' While I’m only a semi-regular, whenever I’m in town and near here, this is my go-to place. The menu offers everything from fresh, healthy options to classic Tex-Mex dishes. I highly recommend the cheese enchiladas topped with carne guisada. The bar also makes excellent cocktails; my personal favorite is the Don Julio margarita with a Grandma floater. The service is consistently exceptional every time I visit. I really enjoy their happy hour selections, and I just found out that they serve breakfast all day. This place is truly perfect."

"This place is amazing. The food is fantastic. From the poblano soup to the carnitas burrito, not to mention the flan. All spectacular. The service was superb and the atmosphere was well thought out. There were candles on the table and flowers throughout. Fresh flowers everywhere. I was really happy that the whole experience maintained its grandeur from the time we walked in to the time we left. Everything was perfect. Not very often I say that when there wasn’t any alcohol involved. Well not for me anyway, but the drinks on the table did look fruity and delicious. Definitely stop in and have some of everything."

"Wow!!! What an incredible find in a seemingly remote location. The restaurant is situated in a charming little building right on the main highway. We visited for dinner on a Friday night, and the place was bustling both inside and out. Our server, Maria, made us feel like part of the family—she was attentive and quickly picked up on all our needs. She was thrilled to see us, saying we were new faces to the establishment. The chips were deliciously warm, and the homemade salsa was fantastic. We ordered tacos, a quesadilla, and sides of beans and rice. The carnitas and beans were exceptional. Everything that passed by our table looked amazing. If we lived nearby, we would definitely make this a weekly spot, and we would be sure to request Maria every time!"

"I had an amazing experience with wonderful service and delicious food at this restaurant. The salsa and cheese dip were particularly fantastic! Mallory took care of us during our first visit, and she was excellent. When we returned on Sunday, Rosa was our server, and she was just as great. I can't wait to come back!
