"The ambiance of the restaurant was very impressive, although most of the wine bottles on display were actually empty and just for show. I ordered the seared foie gras and my wife had the arugula salad, which she really enjoyed. I had to search for a few seconds on my plate to find the small slice of foie gras. The main course, however, was much better. My duck breast was excellent and my wife's scallops were wonderful. The duck confit latke was slightly undercooked but still tasty. The crème brulée was delicious and the portion size was generous. It was disappointing that they didn't offer champagne or domestic sparkling wine by the glass, only prosecco. Our server was friendly and accommodating, although she was the only one working in the entire restaurant. The long wait times between courses, totaling 3 hours for 3 courses, was a bit excessive. Overall, despite the small portion of foie gras and the staffing issues, the meal would have been quite enjoyable."

The food and service at this restaurant were fantastic. The waiter provided excellent recommendations and I was completely impressed by the filet mignon. View menu

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The wine list was impressive and paired perfectly with the farm-to-table entrees. The meal was of high quality and made for a perfect dining experience for couples.

Came here for a girls overnight getaway and dined here. Loved the ambiance of the wine cellar (bring a sweater-its chilly down there! Menu is seasonal and slim, but literally everything was delicious, especially the scallop dish! Waitstaff was short staffed and a little curt, but everything else was delightful.

View the world around you and treat others how you want to be treated I 've never been so embarrassed in my life. After 4 hours of driving, my wife, brother, and I were turned away and told our reservation was no longer valid as we arrived wearing jeans and not dress pants. Mind you, we were dressed proper and prepared to celebrate a wonderful life event to the fullest extent at dinner. Mtn. View should be ashamed of their focus on social view rather than providing hospitable service. I, and my family will never spend a dime here again. View menu

The wine selection by the glass was disappointing, with cheap options like Ecco Domani and La Marca prosecco that would not satisfy wine enthusiasts. Champagne was not available by the glass, forcing customers to order a full bottle. This made the meal expensive for those looking for just one or two glasses. The food was also underwhelming. The brie starter was a large slab of brie served with stale bread. The filet mignon was not cooked well and the halibut was overly fishy, which was unexpected for a mild white fish. The overall dining experience was lacking, with only one server handling multiple tables and one group being exceptionally loud and distracting. As regular guests of the M...

Its difficult to make reservations to get in there because it doesn't have much seating, so book way ahead...but the food, wine, ambiance, service (Britney was outstanding! Well worth the reservation hassle. Three of us got the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The Port reduction demiglace was perfect on it. The accompanying vegetables were excellent as well (but would ask for more of the mashed next time . our fourth had the rack of lamb and loved it as well. I also had the Burrata salad (substituted baby spinach for the arugula (that stuff and way to bitter to go with burrata! and it was very good as well. The baby spinach went nicely...I'll be trying that again at home. The crème brû...

"This review is a contradiction to itself... The service was great and incredibly slow. Some of the food was excellent and some just barely mediocre. We had a reservation at 5:45 they told us they couldn 't seat us at 5:15 or 5:30 even though more than 1/2 of the dining room was empty when we got there. Sure sign that they are short on staff but it must be in the kitchen because there were definitely enough waitstaff around. And although there were waitstaff around we barely saw our very friendly waitress. The owner was around and was very nice and accommodating with the kids and offered to make anything they wanted. I had the prime rib which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and tender but it had no flavor at all. The sweet carrots were the star of the plate. My husband had the rib eye and said it was just OK but again no flavor. My daughter had the bacon burger but it was a hockey puck and all she ate was the mashed potato side. My son had grilled chicken and their famous fries (as the owner said) the fries were the pre battered kind and nothing fancy and the chicken was just that a slab of grilled chicken breast. The fried green beans were good and the pretzels were perfect although the cheese sauce with them had no flavor. We took desserts to go and I am not sure why they called it bread pudding but it was just a hunk of hard bread. We like to support local but not sure we will make an effort to come back here."

"I recently stayed for a week at the Mountain View Grand Resort in New Hampshire, and it was an unforgettable experience.Pros:The views from both our room and the property in general were truly unmatched. Being nestled in the heart of the mountains provided a breathtaking backdrop throughout our stay. The llama experience was an absolute must-do; walking alongside these gentle creatures and enjoying breakfast afterward was a unique adventure. Axe throwing and visiting the farm with a variety of animals were also standout activities that added to the charm of the resort. The property itself was impeccably clean and accentuated its natural beauty. The Wine Cellar Restaurant was truly beautiful and a wonderful experience. We tried the bar, and the second restaurant, as well as room service and all was stellar!Cons:While the overall experience was nice there were a few areas that left something to be desired. The front desk service, in particular, was lacking. It felt as though we had to initiate every request, which, considering the substantial cost of our stay (few thousand) was somewhat disappointing. The rest of the staff (housekeeping, activities coordinator, bar and restaurant, and the porch employees were amazing, no complaints there) but the front desk staff truly need some hospitality training. When checking in they didn't offer a map of the premises (and it's a huge property) or schedule of the activities- I had to prompt them to give it to us and I had to ask for every add-on activity (times, price) because I researched them online, not because they offered. Had I not seen the llama experience or axe throwing we wouldn't have done it because we wouldn't have known. And truly all they had to do was provide us a paper they print with the daily activities (which they did once I asked). We were also not told about the spa or all its services (which we would've done) until the last day when it was too late. Additionally, the limited scheduling of certain activities was a bit restrictive. Axe throwing being available only once a day at 10 am and s'mores offered only three times a week, rather than nightly, made it challenging to fully enjoy these amenities. In conclusion, the Mountain View Grand Resort offers a stunning setting and spacious rooms with incredible views. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to the level of service and the availability of some activities. Despite these minor drawbacks, our overall experience was memorable, but unless they change their staff training we'd consider spending those 3 thousand dollars at the Mount Washington Resort down the road. The Mountain View Resort is a historic and beautiful property and their front desk staff should treat it as such and make guests feel valued and welcome, as well as enticed to take advantage of every amenity it has to offer."
