"What a unique and delicious dining experience! I give it double thumbs up for the ability to sit outdoors and stay completely dry during a downpour. The mushroom and shrimp biscuit casserole was made with incredibly fresh shiitake mushrooms and cooked to perfection—crunchy shrimp, melted cheese, crumbly biscuit, and juicy mushrooms all combined wonderfully. The burgers and crab dip were also fantastic. Even the corn on the cob had a subtle spicy kick (what was that? Clove?). Every dish had its own distinctive flavors! My only complaint was our somewhat awkward waitress. While she seated us quickly and brought our food promptly, she was a bit clumsy in her service. She insisted on waiting for our complete order before taking our appetizer request, and we had to catch her before she left to place our drink order. She tended to over-explain while also saying “no” to everything. Despite this, I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return!"

A local from our home town recommended this place when he heard we were going to Hilton Head for vacation. Great recommendation! Mary our server was great had a lot of knowledge of the menu the food. Soooo not what I expected. Nice weather so chose to sit outside. The patio is horrible. The most uncomfortable metal chairs. The tables are too close to one another. Our ears were assaulted by the shrieking toddlers at the next table. Shrimp and grits were good but I’ve had much better elsewhere. The only pleasant part of the evening was our waitress, Paige. My wife and I are staying in Hilton Head all month. We had dinner on Wed the 11th of Oct. at the Low Country. Wonderful,fantastic and delicious! Cookie was our waitress. She is a breath of fresh air. Friendly, professional, courteous and full of positive energy! All the staff were very friendly. Cookie's customer service skills and down right friendly personality elevated our great experience to a higher level. She is an asset to the Backyard team. Thank you Cookie and thank you for my take home Banana pudding which is the best I ever had!! Great Job. Your friends from NJ, Mark and Kathy!

We were here for lunch today. Our waitress was very nice and food came out super quickly. I got the She Crab soup which was excellent. My son and I both got the shrimp and grits and my husband got the Bischick. The gravy was a little odd but he enjoyed his meal. Although good, I definitely don’t think the shrimp and grits are worth all the hype or the cost. I know of TWO places in little ol Cartersville, Ga that blows it out of the water when it come to shrimp and grits. We had two sweet teas and a water to drink. Total for lunch with a tip was $107.00. CRAZY if you ask me. I wouldn’t mind trying other things on their menu but wouldn’t go out of my way to do so. View menu

There's nothing fancy about this restaurant, not that you should be expecting that from a place with this name. However, the food is delicious and the staff is efficient and kind. Our waitress was very accommodating and sweet and she even timed a to-go order for us so that it would be ready right as we left. We will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: There is at least 1 vegetarian appetizer. There are 2 vegetarian sandwiches and 1 entree. But it looks like several items you could remove the meat and make vegetarian also. Very tomato heavy though Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free buns and several clearly marked gluten free options. You have to specify you want it that way

Saw a lot of good reviews about this place and I was super excited to go try it. I feel like I came into this restaurant with high expectations and I was just a little disappointed when it didn’t meet them. Everyone was talking about the seafood Purloo online and my fish was very rubbery and the rice had way too much tomato paste. Overall, the flavor of the dishes were very good and the shrimp and grits are worth trying here. The lobster bisque didn’t really taste like lobster and had an excessive amount of heavy cream.
