"Strangest restaurant experience ever. As we walked down the icy steps, we realized we might have made a mistake. We entered the tiny intimate space and lingered in the doorway for a while (approximately 2 minutes) in a smoky haze.My boyfriend spotted a table and we took the table despite a huge poinsettia plant on it. I decided to walk to the back on our behalf because we were not sure what the procedure was given we weren't seated and didn't notice any staff except for in the back.As I approached the back, the woman in the back instead of greeting me shouted Red Door Confused I approached and she said Are you looking for the bathroom I said No, just wanted to ask a question since it's our first time here. Do we order here and it's brought to us She said no, that we just wait by the door and she would seat us. I mentioned we had found a seat already after waiting at the door and wanted to know if that was ok. No response. She said she would be with us in a second.After sitting another 10 minutes she approached 2 other tables for their orders. My boyfriend glanced at me and we knew it was time to go... We left after not being approached at all for about 15 minutes. UnfortunateWe went to Caffé Mona La Bistro instead"

First time here! Happy to see an approachable and straightforward place to get breakfast on a weekday. Good down to earth nice people making good down to earth comforting breakfast food. Nothing but kindness and love. Looking forward to coming back again and again!

This place was an amazing experience. The food was the best I've had in a long time. I would like to make a shout out to Amanda, our waiter. She was very nice and tolerant. And the wait was under 5 minutes. Their food sure is FAST food! The pricing was great. No doubt about it cheapest in the area. It was great.

Soooo underwhelming. They served basically Wonderbread for the grilled cheese and tossed store bought chips on the side. Also took an hour before we got our food.The ventilation was also so bad. There was a haze of kitchen smoke throughout the dining area. The serving staff was very nice tho, so that’s the only upside!

We waited over an hour for food (with only 3 other tables busy) and waited quite some time to be seated and have our order taken. The server, deb, was very nice but is not efficient enough to be the only server/table busser in there. The atmosphere is very small with loud rogue music playing from the kitchen. Super average food. Again, service seemed pleasant but we would not go back to this place.

when we came in, the place was filled with a lazy smoke and my eyes were drinking all the time. it was a small place and there were only 2 other small groups there, but we had to wait like 40-60 minutes on our brunch (which was just an omelette). eating was very average and also only cash. overall, this place gave me a migraine and I will not come back. the only plus is that the people there worked nicely, but that's not enough to come back here. I moved about a year ago to pittsburgh and has been half a dozen times into the charming angela’s cafe since. best coffee in the burgh in large tassen and free refill! best reuben sandwich in burgh! omelettes are also good and waffeln are beautiful and light, but the cost go fast when they add up. Note: I have never seen the smoke atmosphere that some of the other reviewers have commented on here. regarding the service, it has a very small staff and everything is from ground up, so relax with the coffee and enjoy a nice conversation with her dining room partner. I'll try a burger next time!

We tried to grab some brunch but ended up at Angela’s after other places were full. Angela’s had no customers inside and was full of smoke, which we should have immediately realized was a red flag.Since we were the only table, we were expecting to be served promptly. After we arrived, another party of the same size arrived, were seated, and were approached for their order before us. We found this strange but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Somehow this table managed to receive their food, eat, and pay before we received our food, a total 45 minute wait.Perhaps this would be okay if the food was decent, but it was mediocre at best.
