"A week before the event, the owner asked for the photos again, claiming he hadn't received them, so we sent them once more. On the day of pickup, we arrived at 10 AM only to find out that the cake hadn't even been started and they still didn't have the images we sent twice. We stressed that we needed the cake done by noon, but they were still unable to locate the photos. It turned out the owner had us send them directly to him despite the fact that he wasn't even working on the cake that day. This whole experience was incredibly unprofessional. When my cousin finally picked it up, they had barely even put the fondant on the cake, and it was poorly done. Spending nearly $300 on a cake that I could have made better myself was outrageous. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone—even as a last resort. For the price we paid, I expected much better quality. I wish I could have gotten a discount or a full refund because the cake looked terrible, tasted bad, had hardly any strawberries, and was just a total waste of time. Honestly, for this price, I should have gone to Weber's!"

The desserts at this place are absolutely amazing! They offer a great selection, including cakes, individual cheesecakes, tarts, and more. I just tried the almond tart, and it was delicious!

How are you not going to give a person a Receipt for a “$40” purchase but end up charging them $300!? And say u cant find the transaction!! Totally unprofessional, no help with money back. Rude and the girl acting stupid asf..

Terrible experience. This place is a scam, and the cakes are gross and not worth the price at all. After paying with a card, they overcharge you and then pretend they don't remember anything about it. I wouldn't recommend going there, but if you do, definitely ask for a receipt. View menu

Chef/owner Laura is exceptional and super nice. I ordered a Cookie monster theme birthday cake for my son's first birthday. Her staff did an excellent job with the design and flavors. My husband and I were very pleased with our experience. Thank you so much Laura for getting the cake delivered.

They are scammers. A girl was charged $300 instead of the $40 she was supposed to pay, and now they claim they never charged her that amount and can’t find her transaction. They also didn't provide her with a receipt. Do not trust this place; they are unprofessional and seem to be running a scam.

The owner is a superb shoulder and argues with the people I had to wear the slat because they didn't have the color and at the very time they gave me a slack of a very different color was the first time I ordered there for my wedding the employees are very friendly but the owner is a kick! Never in my life will I ever order it again! View menu

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant, thanks in large part to the wonderful customer service provided by a staff member named Rosie, who always greeted me with a smile. The quality of the ingredients in my guava cake was truly noticeable. I also tried the cinnamon cookies, and they were delightful. I can only imagine the amount of effort that goes into creating such special and unique dishes. Thank you, Rosie!

I ordered a cake from here this past weekend and I was upset because I had ordered a cake of 9 inches and when I got the cake it was 6 inches. I had a lot of guests that day and unfortunately I didn't have enough cake for everyone. I had my mom pick up the cake so she had no idea what size I had gotten. Just upset that they didn't pay attention to detail like this. On top of that they charged me the price of the big cake when I should of have paid for the small cake only.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
