Holy Grail! This place is AMAZING. The food and atmosphere are equally delicious. Don’t let the exterior stop you. Once you enter, you’ll understand. The bbq is off the chains. The atmosphere, food, and ambiance are fantastic. The new cigar lounge is impressive and enhances the wonderful vibe of the outdoor dining area. On top of that, the barbecue here is undoubtedly the best in San Diego County! I highly recommend this place for singles, families, locals, and tourists alike. It's a great opportunity to experience the vibrant Black community in San Diego.

I had the best time with two of my friends celebrating her birthday. They danced and sang for for her birthday brought out a slice of delicious cake! Great music, spectacular service, plus we came out with gifts from the owner and a round of shot as a toast to try. A great place to eat, listen to music, and if you like to smoke a cigar they have there own private area. Everyone was friendly with whomever waked in the patio. I will definitely come back!!!

I was watching a local YouTuber who recommended this restaurant, and I’m so glad we decided to check it out. It was absolutely DELICIOUS! We ordered the sampler platter, which included brisket, ribs, and sausage, along with sides of mac and cheese and coleslaw. Everything was fantastic! The coleslaw had a nice kick to it, which I really enjoyed, and the mac and cheese was spot on. The ribs were wonderfully tender. Kenny “Bowlegs”, owner of Bowlegged BBQ was a fantastic host. His staff was efficient and quick. Only 11 minutes from the airport, my husband and I drove straight to his restaurant with only minutes to spare. Not only were warmly greeted, he served us great baby back ribs, potato salad and collard greens. In the rear of his restaurant, it has a cigar lounge, tables with tents and gazebos for shade. The atmosphere was comforting and pleasant. Great place to hang out, enjoy music and sports, as it is a neighborhood staple. Reasonably priced.Wheelchair accessibility: Enter from the rear door.

After reading all the reviews I was excited to try the bbg at bowlegged.I'm a fan of brisket and a good hotlink so I decided to try their signature bowlegged sandwich with both a hotlink and brisket.The sandwich was served with pickle slices and no extra sauce. I asked if they had more than one sauce as I like to try the variety a place might offer, only one sauce here so I asked for some extra.The bread was delicious, the hotlink was pretty much what I expected but the brisketon my sandwich was chopped with very fatty chunks and really had no depth of flavor.
