"The food was freshly prepared, with some dishes standing out more than others. My favorites were the hot udon with tempura and the scallops hokkaiyaki, which were excellent. We also tried two skewers of chicken thigh and a pork belly skewer; while the portions were a bit small, they were grilled to perfection. Additionally, the torch toro maki was good, though I've had better elsewhere. The drinks were enjoyable too. My only small issue was that there seemed to be too few waitstaff for the number of customers in the izakaya, making it feel a bit chaotic when trying to place orders. Overall, it’s a great spot in Davis Square for Japanese cuisine, even if it’s not operated by Japanese owners."

Wow cannot recommend this place enough. I was amazed as to how good the food was. Everything was perfect and very affordable. This is probably the best Japanese food I’ve had in the United States.

I love the veggie Maki combo! The cucumber maki is the only one I would possibly sub out if I could. Edit: The Black Dragon Roll is my new favorite order here. The Hawaiian Sushi Pizza is delicious too!

I absolutely adore their soba noodles! The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious. It's rare to find restaurants in Boston that prepare such wonderfully vinegary sushi rice. Overall, I had a fantastic experience.

The menu has a very wide selection of everything from soba noodles to sushi to izakaya style Japanese food. Prices are reasonable. Making a reservation might be helpful but not a must, we had to wait ~40min for a party of 3 on a Friday night without a reservation. View menu

Delicious, delicious! I'm a fan of the fresh seafood, noodles, drink selection, and desserts! During my latest visit, I ordered the noodles with shredded vegetables and shrimp tempura. The broth was rich, the noodles were tender, and the tempura was simply divine! The portion sizes were perfect—enough to satisfy without leaving you feeling overly full. I can't wait to return. The prices are also very reasonable.

I'm still unsure about this restaurant. I absolutely loved the flatbread; it was warm, chewy, and incredibly fresh—like it had just come out of the oven. However, the Margh Challow (I hope I spelled that right) was a chicken curry dish, and the chicken was terrible; I couldn't even bring myself to eat it. The baklava, which is one of my favorite desserts, was the worst I've ever had in my life, even worse than my own hesitant attempts over the years. I did enjoy some other small dishes that I shared with friends, but all their main courses and desserts were also disappointing. Overall, I don't think it's worth the trip, so if you don't know what to order, I wouldn't recommend going here.

"Great casual fine dining experience in a quiet Cambridge neighborhood.Took a visit here for dinner on a Saturday night. Its casual and rustic interior blended in perfectly with the atmosphere of the neighborhood, and our servers were very welcoming. We were initially planning to do the tasting menu, but the regular a la carte menu seemed too good to miss. We ended up ordering a bunch from their regular menu which turned out to be the right decision. The optional focaccia and rye bread with sweet scallion butter was an excellent start to the meal. From the appetizers, we had the kohlrabi cabbage, country terrine, and the scallop crudo. Topped with a mélange of earthy and floral ingredients, the scallop crudo was my favorite from the appetizers. Each bite was creamy and flavorful yet inexplicably light. Sprinkled with cranberries and spiced seeds, the kohlrabi and cabbage salad was also delightful. I especially loved the spiced seed toppings which added the right amount of nuttiness and crunchy texture.Saffron bigoli with leeks and clam sofrito had a slightly boring flavor profile, but the pappardelle verde with lamb sugo was phenomenal. I’m usually not a fan of mint toppings, but it managed to become a perfect complement to the lamb sugo. Subsequent 3 entrées were also amazing. Japanese-inspired soy marinated cod was perfectly tenderized, and its delicate texture paired well with the carrots and leeks soaked in dashi. Forking a concoction of chimichurri sauce, garlic purée, and grilled spring onion with tender pieces of beef teres major was also very satisfying. We finished off the meal with the carrot cake sundae and the lemon poppyseed cake. The dessert section lacked refined taste, but we still appreciated their effort to put something unique and interesting. Overall, a really enjoyable dinner experience at a reasonable price. Would definitely come back some day to try their tasting menu.Parking: Street parking available on Huron Ave Concord Ave"

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
