"I wrote this on Yelp: 'I used to be regular there from 1985 until the late 90 's, so my thoughts might be less than current. This was a real international place where I met lots of interesting people from around the world. The dancers from the studio upstairs used to come down on Saturday nights and dance on the tables. Tea comes by the pot, and the lavender tea is the best! More recently, you could find middle eastern specialities. This was a real bohemian hangout for while at least. I liked the beat up antique sewing machine base turned table in the window I studied many a happy hour there, and made many friends. Don Ramcharan if you are out there email strannik at strannik dot com! ' I was just back for a pot of the lavender tea. It is just as wonderful as it was in 1985, and all of the years since. This place is a gem. I worry as many of my old SF haunts have disappeared. I just hope that this place keeps going forever! Oh, and the restroom that used to be a ramshackle back room of old wood, is now a high tech washroom from a starship or something!"

This place was always the heartbeat of the mission. They need your support. So go drink lots of coffee there. It's very good.

The best cafe in the Mission, a place to remember a to be remembered. Poetry, music, wine, good food and good people make of this classical establishment one of the best in SF.

1st visit. Great green chai, smooth lemon zest slices (cake? . I left my skateboard (30 years old counter to take a call outside. Spaced it. Came back after call owner asked if I was missing anything? Panic. Another customer had found skateboard leaning against the counter handed it over. You know who you are, thanks so much.

La Boheme is my favorite cafe in the Mission neighborhood. I am thankful for their delicious cappuccinos and bagels, as well as the genuine kindness shown to me by the owner. Unlike other coffee shops in San Francisco that may feel cold and impersonal, La Boheme truly feels like a vital part of the local community. Shortly after moving to the area, I visited the cafe a few times and was touched by the owner's generosity on a rainy day when he offered me an umbrella without me even having to ask. This small gesture of kindness made me feel welcome and appreciated as a new neighbor. I highly recommend La Boheme for not only their tasty treats, but also for the warmth and hospitality they provi...

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
