"The service was competent and efficient, with our server being particularly friendly and well-trained. The beer and cocktail menu are both very nice. What we found disappointing was the food. For the prices, one would expect elevated fare, andconsidering this is a culinary resort, the food should be cooked with good technique. All of our dishes were bland. Veggies werea cheap and uninspired pile of zucchini and summer squash to accompany a steak with almost no sear, no flavor, and which wasovercooked. Pork belly was completely tasteless, and the accompanying pineapple salsa looked like it had been made a few daysago, as the pineapple chunks were withered and sad. The restaurant puts on the pretenses of an upscale casual diningestablishment, but execution is lacking leading to an overpriced experience. Sadly, salt would have almost saved this meal, which is too simple an error for a culinary resort to make. The grounds are beautiful, with a lovely kitchen shop, gardens, andpicturesque buildings. The hospitality company which owns this property should think about investing in kitchen staff as much asthey do aesthetics to make the food match the beauty of the establishment."

Excellent service! The crispy Brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious. The burgers and side salads were tasty, and the sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy.

I love the Tavern! I overnight at The Essex a lot for work and The Tavern is built right into the hotel. Super convenient and the food is amazing. You have to come here!

Just had tomato soup and grilled cheese that was out of this world!! Onion rings are the best you'll ever have!! Hailee is a wonderful server and the manager was so kind.

Lovely staff, small but well-rounded menu, great fries. I'm not sure how well I liked a pumpernickel bun for a salmon burger, but it was at least different. The tiramisu was amazing, though! View menu

Very friendly service, but understaffed so quite slow. Prices are high, but food quality matches, although in my personal opinion Lavender is not a flavor that should be added to French toast. Coffee is just ok.

We had family visits from the state and they were in Essex. We had breakfast in the tavern before they left and it was really nice. We were in a room with us and we were all able to talk and hear. Our food was great and our server was very attentive. It made a really nice end to our visit. View menu

This restaurant offers a delightful atmosphere with ample space and natural light. While the menu is categorized as pub food, it is actually much more diverse and creative than that label suggests. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly, and the bacon cheeseburger was also outstanding. The service was prompt and professional, which was an added bonus. The noise level in the room was a bit high, likely due to the lively Friday evening crowd. Though it's not the cheapest option, the experience is absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it!

"The restaurant serves well-designed American Chinese food that tastes great and has wonderful service. They offer a combination special that includes soup, an appetizer, a main course, and dessert for just $12. I give the vibe a 4 out of 5. This charming little independent Chinese restaurant is located in a strip mall parking lot. The inside is cozy with about 8 to 10 tables. The decoration reminds me of Chinese restaurants from the 80s and 90s, with red wall art and Chinese zodiac posters, which brought back good memories. For service, I give a perfect 5 out of 5. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They took our orders quickly, and our meals arrived at just the right time. Our hot tea kettle was always full, and when it was time to pay, we just settled the bill at the counter. The food also gets a 5 out of 5. If you're looking for great American-style Chinese food, you can't go wrong here. Little China offers a variety of well-prepared dishes. Their dinner combination meals are a great deal, with a choice of 20 main courses that come with a cup of soup (wonton or egg drop), an egg roll or ribs as an appetizer, hot tea, and dessert (ice cream or rice pudding) for around $12, though prices may vary based on the main course. The main course is a full-size portion, not a smaller lunch size. During our last visit, we ordered the Char Siu Pan and the beef with veggies, along with some soups, 1 egg roll, and 1 spare rib. We also tried the crunchy seafood plate and steamed dumplings. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great, but the amazing soup and Char Siu Pan were the highlights of the meal. Everything I saw coming from the kitchen looked delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate to order anything from Little China!"
