"I've visited this restaurant several times for both dine-in and takeout, but today’s takeout experience was my last for a while. I placed an online order at 10:40 with a scheduled pickup time of 11:21. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30, anticipating some delays as I know they can be slow. After waiting about 15 minutes, I inquired about my order and was told they were still working on it. About 10 minutes later, I asked again and learned that the salmon croquettes had to be remade, but they assured me they would be ready in about 2 minutes. However, I didn’t receive my food for another 10 minutes after that. There was no communication regarding the need to remake my order, nor was I informed of the delay when I arrived. Although I enjoy this restaurant, I won’t be going back until I can be sure that they can prepare orders promptly. I wasn’t offered an apology or any gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience. My main frustration was the lack of communication! Keeping customers informed about their order status could prevent a lot of frustration and allow them to make other choices. Please improve!"

My husband and I decided to have breakfast this morning and noticed they had catfish on the menu, so we decided to try it out. It turned out to be a terrible decision—the fish was awful and tasted like it came straight from the bottom of the ocean. We were also served just one filet, which was disappointing. We ordered cheesy eggs and potatoes, but they were a letdown, too. Even the toast was tough—how does that happen? I’m sharing this review not to unfairly criticize the restaurant, but to highlight that there might be a need for more training in the kitchen.

I have visited this restaurant four times over the past year and a half. Each time, it has been relatively quiet, yet the service has been frustratingly slow. It typically takes about five minutes just to get noticed by a server. On my most recent visit, it took an astonishing 45 minutes to receive my food. For a breakfast spot, that’s simply unacceptable. While I genuinely want to support this local, black-owned business, I hesitate to keep returning when the service is just okay and the kitchen's speed leaves much to be desired. Additionally, there isn’t a kids' menu, which is another downside.
