"Cooter Brown's Tavern is a perfect dining stop...a must for any and every trip to New Orleans. It is better than anywhere we have eaten on our Memphis-Waco-New Orleans 30th anniversary vacation. We rode the near by St. Charles streetcar, just prior, to us absolutely enjoying the food and atmosphere at Cooter Brown's. 1) The Cooter burger was the best ever tasted. 2) The Iris Channel Special was the best sandwich I have ever eaten. It is like a perfectly cooked ribeye and prime rib sandwich. 3) the fried pickles were perfect... best in New Orleans for sure!... just as advertised. If Debbie knew her soap opera show was on one of the corner tvs... we would have stayed at least another hour... lol Be sure and stop by Cooter's and Enjoy!"

Loved the Gator Mater poboy! Super cool bar with great food and plenty of room for large groups. There was no table service when I visited but who really cares, I actually liked ordering my food at the bar instead.

great place at the end of a walk and a classic place. Although I am sure that tourists find this place enough because of the Trolley line terinus. fun people drink beer and enjoy fried local dishes. not too expensive!

Go-to tavern/sports bar for sure! Probably, the most complete selection of beers in the whole city. A true institution in uptown. Do not sleep on their food. The wings and loaded fries are fire and they happen to chuck the best oysters in the greater Louisiana area. View menu

Had an incredible sandwich at this location and felt like there was plenty of food for the price. A great selection of beers to choose from also. The staff was friendly and took care of us promptly. The relaxed vibe and good people makes this a good recommendation from me.

I had to kill an hour so I stopped. typical diving atmosphere with many tvs, space and ambiente. Crazy huge selection of be on both design and cooler. has haufbrau yeast on the design, had to grab one. test the fried pickles as snack. they enjoy the pickles that had a little sweet, and the beer sure.

I just go to good restaurants I like. cooter brown’s is a loud, large, uptown uptown bar with a restaurant and one of the best oyster bars in the city. the oysters are freshly shoved when they order. it's loud and loud, but the oysters are just great, don't leave the obvious fear away View menu

was recommended and worth it! we went on a Friday night and where many college students and a mix of other people, it was a pretty busy night. we have a few different foods to try. the catfish basket, an salate, oyster and bounty balls. the kitchen is separated from the bar and the oyster blades is also separated from the food at the corner of the bar, so order all three at different places. I would recommend eating! there are tvs on every wall that is so good for sport, although that is not what we were for. also two bars for easier access to the drink.

cooter browns is a new orleans plungable gem. it is long enough here to be a generational goal with fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, all looking for late night cheeses and cold beers. cooter Brown’s had an amazing beer selection long before it was hip and fashionable. besides the varied and changing train taps there are countless bottles and doses from the wide corners. if they can't find a beer here, they're not really in the mood to drink. in addition, the kitchen is on the level of many top-tier poker and seafood stoppers in nola. No I don't work here or my own part of it, I just appreciate it.
