"During my most recent visit, I ordered bibim naengmyun and tried the seafood tofu stew. Unfortunately, I noticed that a significant part of their menu was crossed out at that time. The tofu stew was just as I expected, but the bibim naengmyun was a bit of a letdown—it turned out to be plain naengmyun with just a couple of different types of kimchi on the side. I had never tried it before, but from what I've seen online, I was anticipating something a bit more elaborate. While the flavor was pleasant, it was somewhat one-dimensional. We also arrived kind of early, around 4:50 PM, and even though they were supposed to be open, the restaurant was still closed. After giving them a call, they informed us that they would be opening in about 10 minutes, so we strolled around the block a couple of times before we were finally able to enjoy our meal."

Friendly customer service. Had a little bit of a price hike, but with COVID impacting small businesses it was understandable.

I ordered the hot beef stew, bibimbap, and a side of cucumber with kimchi. We requested a side of kimchi, but they only had paste available, so we chose the cucumber instead. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The portion sizes were impressive for the price!

Don't pay attention to the white Yelpers and food enthusiasts. This place is the real deal. They treated us to perilla jeon and grilled mackerel for our toddler, complimentary! Everything was great, especially the spicy BBQ pork made with pork belly. My family and I will definitely return!

I've been going here since I was young as I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and I have always love going here because there is this nice old man who is always so diligently kind which has left an impression on me. I am visiting home and this is somewhere I always want to visit, feels very homey food for me. View menu

I visited this restaurant on Sunday evening for dinner and was transported to a countryside eatery in Korea. It's not the fanciest place, and the interior has a somewhat peculiar color scheme, but the food is outstanding. There are a few challenges—if you don't read Korean, the menu might be difficult to understand, and if you're looking for a more upscale dining experience, this might not be the right spot for you. However, if you're willing to look past these hurdles, you'll be richly rewarded with delicious, authentic home-cooked Korean meals.

Went in Sunday evening for dinner. I felt as if I was in a restaurant in a countryside of Korea. Not the fanciest place, sort of odd color schemed interior, but one with great food. There are some obstacles menu may be hard to decipher if you do not read Korean, if you are looking for a more upscale dining area, this may not be the place for you. However, if you are able to overcome these, you will be handsomely rewarded with authentic home cooking style Korean food, which has become increasingly rare in the city. Pricing is great for the quality/quantity of food. Try spicy octopus/squid/pork, kalbi, beef soup or any of the grilled fish options.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
