"Absolutely gorgeous little restaurant with a wonderfully rich history, very little street parking to be had nearby but they were happy to work with us if finding parking made us late for our reservation. The chicken liver appetizer, Caprese salad, bracciole, and shrimp fra diavolo were all out of this world, best pasta I've ever eaten, but the tira misu took the cake, literally, I've never tasted anything so decadent. I'd come back for that alone. The only (minor) downside to the experience was that we do not eat pork for religious reasons, and while we asked the waiter up front for menu recommendations that do not contain pork, and he did steer us away from several choices, the chicken liver and bracciole that we did end up ordering seemed to contain pork not sure if we're just mistaken about the ingredients, or if there was a miscommunication from the waiter to the kitchen to omit it, didn't take away terribly from the dining experience but just worth being extra careful if you're asking for recommendations/omissions due to allergies or serious medical reasons. But otherwise, definitely one of the best meals I've ever had."

For me, this is the best Italian restaurant in Philadelphia. I've never had Italian food as amazing as this! The calamari is hands down the best I've ever tasted. The eggplant and risotto were also exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Outstanding old school Italian dinner. All of the food was terrific but the gnocchi and the meatballs were the big winners, as was the caprese salad. But everything was great. Highly recommended if you like Italian food. And there’s valet parking.

Came here for the first time after reading all the incredible reviews and it definitely lives up to all of them. The lasagna was beautiful and tasted as wonderful as it looked. The homemade tiramisu was great as well. I don’t think you can have a bad dish here. View menu

Came to Philly for the weekend with the family and stumbled upon this place. We didn’t have a reservation but they seated us immediately, service was friendly and great but the food was better. Our waiter Frank is the man, upscale service for a fraction. Even the kids loved every bit of it, would definitely recommend and will return next time. Thank you!

Established in 1899, Dante Luigi 's, Corona di Ferro is one of the oldest existing Italian restaurants in the U.S. at nearly 125 years old. Situated in the heart of the Italian Market district, it was once the destination of Italian immigrants arriving in Philadelphia. Unable to speak English, they arrived on the docks with the name of the restaurant written on a scrap of paper and pinned to their lapels. They were given lodging in the upstairs rooms and worked in the restaurant below. Now a 5-star Zagat wonder, and regularly considered the best Italian in the city, they retain the same old school atmosphere and a perfect spot to surprise your favorite peeps for special occasions View menu

Let me just say wow. From the service to the food, the hostess was so friendly as were the other employees welcoming us, I forgot our waiters name but he was amazing. He described everything so well and was also super funny cracking jokes with us. The food itself was honestly to die for, I haven’t had Italian food this good ever. My expectations were definitely met and we can’t wait to come back next time we’re visiting Philly. We started off with a bottle of moscato, and complementary bread. I had the Jersey Salad which is Italian tomato’s, Italian onions, mozzarella, basil with balsamic and olive oil and it was fantastic. For my entree I had the Gnocchi Romano and when I tell you I’ve been...
