"One of our favorite Chester restaurants. Combine quiet, intimate setting, with excellent cuisine and outstanding service. The menu is simple combining the best of down home Italian cuisine. During the pandemic we ordered takeout and I said to one of the owners that we loved their establishment. He gently teased me that it had been two years since we were last year, as if we were family members who had not been around awhile. I explained that the pandemic combined with a 6-8 hour drive depending upon traffic curtailed our schedule of visiting. Culinary highlights are the rack of lamb, the polpette, the carbonara, and polipo, so long as watching the movie My Octopus Teacher has not turned you off to eating grilled octopus. We always feel like family here."

"Stopped by for a mid-afternoon lunch date with my daughter. Our waitress, Michelle, was wonderful. We had the pickles peppers (best fried pickles we've had yet) followed by salad, falafel, and a huge slab of amazingly moist pumpkin cake. Everything was fresh and delicious and served quickly. Can't say enough good things about it. We will be back!"

"I spent 4hrs working at HG one hot muggy afternoon. Great place. AC in the window chugging away, kept me (I was only person there) cool. Super small, comfy, quirky, reliable wifi and the coffee was excellent. Obvious the folks here take great care about it. Big mug too, nice and hot; not the cheap paper cup with plastic lid. Upstairs is antique/museum thing. Coffee is a tad expensive at $3.75 but inline with everything else in this town (and this very pretty region of the country...like living in a national park). WC (single) in the back. Parking easy, just off Main St, 200m from the theatre and bridge, beside post office and library (across the street from 200+ yr-old cemetery, where all the local original family names are there...worth a short walk around itself)."

"We went for the advertised Octoberfest menu that the The Gelston House shared in an email, and posted on outside their. building. Unfortunately, the menu was changed and they were not offering one of the special entrees sauerbraten so that was a big disappointment. My veiner schnitzel entree came out as the bratwurst entree so they had to start over to prepare what I had ordered. In all, the food and desserts were good, and the view was spectacular on a gorgeous fall afternoon."

"I called to inquire about a promotional deal that Subway was offering, but they hung up on me before I could even finish my question. This is poor customer service. To clarify, I wasn't asking about prices or anything like that; I simply wanted to know if the restaurant was participating in the promotion. There was no need for a pricing discussion since it was a free deal. A quick response like, “Yes, we are participating. Thank you, and have a great day,” would have taken just two seconds."
