"Stopped by for lunch after doing a tour in Talkeetna. The large outside patio looked great to have an outdoor lunch and enjoy their popular drinks. The patio had about a 15 minute wait, but there was open seating indoors. I wanted to eat on the patio, so opted for the short wait. Our server was slow to come by to take the initial drink and appetizer orders. She also didn't come by often throughout the meal and admittedly forgot to put in one of the orders. She must've been having an off day as the rest of the servers looked to be very friendly and efficient. Ordered their blueberry mojito as it was recommended by several people when heard we were coming to Talkeetna. This was a great recommendation as it had a great blueberry taste that was balanced with the alcohol. Also, ordered two of their draft beers that were equally as good. For the food, ordered the nachos, brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, Caesar salad, and garden bowl salad. Food came out after about 15 minutes. I wasn't as impressed with the food, but I wasn't disappointed as it's a brewpub. The sandwiches tasted ok, but the plating was very bland and didn't look appealing. The salads and nachos tasted ok. The blueberry cheesecake tasted pretty good. Overall, I'd still recommend coming here for the drinks and ambiance. The food was just something to have with the drinks, so my expectations weren't too high. I didn't have the best service, but the rest of the waitstaff appeared to be doing a great job."

We are creatures of habit, and with Talkeetna Roadhouse temporarily closed, we found ourselves unsure of where to eat. It's been nearly a decade...

Great experience here. The staff was really nice and friendly. Georgette was our waitress and was super friendly and welcomed us quickly and got our drinks. Her homemade ginger soda was amazing. The veggie burgers, sweet potato wedges and the pulled pork sandwich had the great taste. Thanks guys for a fabulous lunch on a rare sunny afternoon!!

The Twister Creek Restaurant and Denali Brewing Company offer five-ounce samples of eleven brews for $2 to $3 each. We pick five with alcohol contents ranging from 5.1 to 9.6 percent and a smoked salmon dip with capers, chopped red onions, cucumbers and a sliced fresh baguette. We enjoy these alfresco while people watching and soaking up the Alaska summer sunshine.

Great Microbrewery. While we didn 't try Twister Creek, we did stop by the tasting room of the brewing company. We sampled everything on tap (a few were already gone for the season due to high demand). Everything we tried was good, and some were great. Definitely a must-stop if you like good beer. Get a growler and take it back to your cabin/hotel. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. Highly recommended. View menu

Initially, I was a bit confused, but it seems that this restaurant is essentially the same as Denali Brew Pub. When I visited Denali Brew Pub, I noticed a "Twister Creek Specials" section on the menu. My husband and I were able to modify some dishes to make them vegan by asking for no butter on the tops of the pulpits and substituting marinara sauce for the beer cheese for dipping. The only dish we were informed was vegan was the teriyaki veggie rice, which we shared, and I found it really tasty and quite healthy! We also shared the Pommes, which were quite delicious.

if they are looking for something good to eat together with a good craft beer then don't look further. they always have their standard house beers as well as seasonal beers and what makes them try to be the devil. that means eating was consistently good there. I was back in the city for business trips and thought for a meal and a home made root beer (as I drove) and I was glad that this was my dinner choice. as always the service was prompt and eating was also on point. I had the crimped bark rub, which was very special as the st. patrick 's day and it was big, filling and teller lick well. everywhere in talkeetna can be packed during a busy day, but this is a...more

"We went last night. As we were looking at the menu the staff let us know they were closing in 1 minute and if we were going to order we had to right then, so we quickly ordered. Didn 't sound like a problem, just a request for us to be quick. Paid for our burgers and suddenly staff at the grill got an attitude. I thought because it was closing time, and the guy that took our order was saying, What do you want to do? We can refund or... I apologized and said don 't worry about it, but apparently he wasn 't talking to us because I heard the other worker respond and say no way he wanted to make our order. At that point I was glad we weren 't having a disgruntled person make our food, so we took the refund. As the refund was being processed, all of the workers made it abundantly clear that they had actually already started making the burgers ?! as we were paying--they were literally on the grill! But they were mad that we hadn 't left a tip. We had paid with a card, and later my husband told me that after it processed the guy turned the screen around and immediately told the others there was no tip; I hadn 't caught that. The worst part was that we had fully intended to tip with cash, as we usually do, but once I realized what was going on the extreme entitlement was just wild to me that I certainly did not offer it up to get them to continue making the food. Tips are for good service, and I 'm happy to leave them for that. They aren 't bribes to get someone to do the job they 're already being paid to do. I don 't know who these guys are, if the one we spoke with owns it or not, but I see online it 's listed as Shirley 's Burger Barn. The main reason I 'm posting this is so that, if the owner wasn 't there tonight, hopefully they read this and know that their workers refused an order even though they had already used the food for it because of their own greed, costing the owner money for no reason. If the owner is the same Shirley from the ice cream shop, we met her earlier when we got ice cream, and she was so sweet and we paid with a card and left a cash tip there as well and had no issue ."

"Nostalgic small café in the forest. I like the idea behind this place. Natural, organic, “REAL FOOD” from scratch. It is a GREAT target, but food must also taste well. I'm always a matcha girl, but I didn't like the matcha here. It tasted more water instead of creamy. And it had a spicy touch of taste, like a spicy chai, but with much more kick. I personally don't think the flavors go well together, but then again I like my matcha on the sweet side, sometimes with a splash of coconut. I enjoy the Mexican chocolate chai, it tasted, not far from how I had imagined it, and I enjoyed the kick that it had nice together since the note pairs but wished it had a little more cream. The quiche was pretty good, my children enjoyed it, but I wasn't a fan of crust that was the part I was most happy since it was gluten-free. It was extremely dry and even hard to cut. I think it was made with corn flour. Personally, I would go with a fluffy acid cream gf “pee” crust. There are many ways to make it, but I do mine with an all purpose gluten-free flour, baking powder, salt, butter, acid cream, etc. It would pair with this quiche tastefully. The eggs were the perfect texture. It said it came with meat, but the generous ‘snell’ I only got a few very small pieces. But as I know, not every disc will be the same, so maybe I just ended up with a missing disc. I would have enjoyed more meat than on the pictures. It also came with gluten-free bread. They were also very generous with the bread slices, which were mostly end pieces, but nevertheless good. However, since the Gf-Brot is a denser, dry bread, instead of a soft moist bread, I would have preferred to heat up a little more because they were REALLY hard, like cardboard, but after they took home, they heated up and add some butter, they were pleasant. I also ordered a sandwich that doesn't look like that on Facebook. I don't know if I'd get it again. As a bread I had to take it apart and heat the bread together with meat, so it was not so dry. I was especially pleased with the balsamic sauce, but it was not quite enough for dry gluten-free bread and as you can see on the photos, it was only on one side of the sandwich that left the other side bland. So I had to take it home and add some taste and more sauce I had finished to whistle. Originally my favorite thing was the carrot ginger soup. It was supposed to be the special, but at $10.50, not including taxes and tip, it wasn't even worth a quarter of it. I took it home and added some taste. I started with a pink Himalayan salt, a little cinnamon, cardamom might have been good, but I decided against it. I also wanted to make it a little sweet and creamy, so I had some homemade sweet cream that I had, and it completely changed the whole taste of the soup. My children even fought about it! I took a photo of it, after some stirring in the cream and it even looks tastier. It was 10 out of 10 after some tweaking. I can say with confidence that the ingredients they used were in any case real/natural and at the end made it for a delicious soup. You have a really wide choice of options, not only drinks, but also food. Even beer and wine. Your pizzas I've seen online look really good. I don't drink coffee, but my friend said she was good. They also had a decent selection of candy. I'm not a big fan of sugary foods, but thought as I was on my way, it would be nice to get a few gf treats. It's delicious. My favorite was their fudge/chocolate bars, definitely a guilty pleasure and probably the cream of the harvest for chocolate fanatics. I suggest trying a dessert and maybe some for the road. I want to be clear, I recommend trying this cafe, but I believe constructive criticism from customers who keep going places like these can only help grow and make greater. I would like to try again, down the street and even my rating from 4 stars to 5."
