Our daughter and her fiancé took us to the Elwood. It is a lovely restaurant which recreates the feeling of Sunday dinner with the grandparents. The delicious family style dishes are accompanied by many sauces and pickled condiments to further enhance their flavors. It has a quiet relaxed relaxed atmosphere that makes for a very pleasant dining experience.

This place is delicious and just a really unique experience. The rabbit and halibut were excellent last time I went but the braised short rib I had this weekend was straight up incredible. They also make the legit best mashed potatoes I've ever had, which I didn't even know was something I wanted out of a restaurant. Please come here with your carnivore friends ASAP

Such a warm and welcoming environment. It was an incredibly personal experience and you can feel the love, thought, and attention put into each and every dish and accompaniment. Second dinner at Elwood. Excellent. BYOB. Had the rabbit which is his speciality. Superb service. Outstanding food. White table cloths and eclectic china and cutlery. Fun! Chef Adam Diltz helps serve and talks to the guests. This restaurant is not part of one of the big restaurant groups in Philly. Chef Diltz is making a go of this on his own. And, he delivers. And, this is a restaurant where you can hear yourself think and actually talk to your partner. It is not one of the noisy fashionista places in Fishtown.

Had the pleasure of dining at Chef Adam Diltz’s Elwood this past weekend for my fiancé 's birthday. We sat in the lovely backyard a true oasis! and were soon greeted by Adam and the wonderful staff. This is such a special place for people to get together and share a family style meal. Every dish was beautiful and beyond delicious. The entrees are seemingly understated, all while being intimate and deeply thoughtful with a rich PA Dutch History. All the little additions from the bountiful homemade jams, to the dreamy side dishes, to the creative yet cozy and familiar desserts really help to capture the nostalgic feeling of a big, hearty dinner at grandma 's house just with the cleverness cran...

Blink and you might miss the entrance to Elwood; it blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Inside, the restaurant has transformed a renovated townhouse into a cozy dining area. We were walk-in guests and a bit underdressed (the owner didn’t mind, and the other patrons seemed quite casual). The meal started with an amuse-bouche featuring venison scrapple, which was a fantastic way to kick things off—absolutely delicious. The pierogis were a standout, and the potato rolls were excellent. For our main course, we had the braided beef, cooked to perfection, accompanied by equally well-prepared vegetables.
