Fred's Downtown Philly

Love your cheesesteak and crab fries. We just used Uber Eats and they delivered a rather small fries. Ordering fries probably not worth it.

I was very disappointed at the last several times I ordered from Fred's. It was very tasteful and now the sandwiches are smaller and less cheesy. No steak egg has been rolling for weeks. And my last sandwich tasted the meat strange. Very dissatisfied.

I really enjoyed the fried pickles! I ordered the veggie burger, which turned out to be a bit spicier than I expected. The fries were tasty, but they got cold quickly. I found the prices to be on the higher side; I ended up spending over $40 for three items. Overall, though, the food was quite good. View menu

Listen up: This is the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had in Texas! I have no ties to anyone at Fred's, and I'm not being paid for this comment. Honestly, I’d consider marrying Kevin just to have Fred's cater my wedding! Thank you, guys, for an amazing sandwich, perfectly cooked fries, friendly and helpful staff, and Big Red on tap. Wow!

The food here is amazing. It?s the best Philly I?ve had in Texas and I?m from PA. I come here for the food and that?s it. The customer service at this location is poor, and I?m being nice. It has never once improved its customer service and doesn?t seem to care that they are lacking employees who care, have a half decent work ethic and it?s impossible to get through on the phone. I have to eat here alone now because my husband refuses to go with me anymore after the horrible experiences with service we receive when we patronize this location. I hope the others are better.

The food here is amazing, and the ambiance is delightful. I really love coming to this place because it feels like a cozy escape from the outside world. The staff is down-to-earth and welcoming. However, during my last visit, I discovered something shocking. When I left a tip, I was informed that the employees actually don’t receive any of it. Whether you tip in cash or add it to your credit card bill, the money goes directly to the restaurant.
