"Ellen, the friendly and knowledgeable lady at the counter, was a delight. She was ready to provide thorough details about every cupcake I asked about. I mentioned it was my first visit and asked for her top recommendations. She suggested the wedding cake cupcake—which I ended up choosing. They also had a sample of strawberry shortcake available, and after tasting it, I was impressed by how moist and delicate it was. It definitely heightened my anticipation for my own selection. Ellen explained how cupcakes travel best, but I gave her that "no way" look and said my cupcake wasn't making it home with me—I had to enjoy it right then and there at one of their two outdoor tables (sadly, there's no seating inside). The cupcake was quite good, with plenty of icing (almost too much for my taste). However, I was a bit let down because it didn't match the moisture and delicacy of that little strawberry sample. Nonetheless, it was still delicious. Prices are $3.25 each or $36 for a dozen. I also felt they could be slightly larger for the price. Although the store wasn’t crowded, there was a steady stream of customers coming in and out, indicating that it’s definitely popular. I’ll be back, Gigi—no doubt about it! There are so many tempting flavors to try, and I’m particularly excited for the salted caramel. But for now, the “Chunky Monkey” will just stick to one cupcake at a time!"

Tough. Dry. Stale. Tasteless. I really wish I could get my $20 back. The pink takeout bag is adorable, which is why I'm giving it a two-star rating.

My review of Gigi's is consistent with those filed by many other folks in terms of personal experience. I've found Gigi's cupcakes typically stale, salty and excessively sugary. Hence, I do not feel their cupcakes are of premium quality and one would do better buying cupcakes from H-E-B; just saying....

Very disappointing the last 2 times, the cupcakes are very stale! We used to come here often, the cupcake flavors were good and they always tasted fresh. Not sure what is going on lately, but it's not what it used to be. I might give them one last chance, but there are too many other choices to keep wasting money in stale cupcakes. View menu

Poor and non-existent customer service. Just left, and no other customers in the location. I walked in and asked about process to make a custom order: a cake and large quantity cupcake order for a corporate event: holiday party and a 25th anniversary celebration. The response was disinterest and rude. Gladly walked out and went a mile down the road and placed an order with Cupcake Cowgirls.

My team and I have enjoyed Gigi's for the past year. The cupcakes are amazing. I love that the menu changes with the season. I'm part of their rewards program, which I wish was managed better. I get free offers through my email, but local store will not honor them because it's not connected to my phone#. Another customer behind me had the same issue. I sent a complaint to the corporate email but no response. As you can see, it hasn't stopped me from going.

*UPDATE* These cupcakes are still the bomb 02.25.14 Oh and shoutout to Suzy in Gigi 's review section...I see u girl...u better promote your business! She don 't like it, but she went back numerous times If you like cupcakes and are in the area, this is the place that you want to visit. So far I tried two cupcakes Wedding Cake and Merry Margarita. They were very moist and delicious...a lot of icing, but I 'm not complaining lol! Anywho, I suggest ordering online if there is a particular one that you want because they sell out fast. I wanted to try the Red Velvet, but they were out : Overall this is a good cupcake spot...a little pricey, but very worth it. Definitely DONT go to Susie Bees off... View menu

When we entered, there were no other customers, and the selection of flavors was quite limited. We decided to try the cake balls, the strawberry shortcake cupcake, and the wedding cake cupcake. The cake balls, also known as cake pops, were just okay—nothing special and a lot denser than ones I’ve had elsewhere. The strawberry shortcake cupcake was absurdly sweet. The frosting-to-cake ratio was laughable: 75% frosting to just 25% cake. To top it off, the cake itself was quite dry. The wedding cake cupcake was no better, with the same problematic ratio and overwhelming sweetness. I took one bite and ended up tossing the rest. At around $2 for the cake balls and $3.50 for the cupcakes, I fe...

I moved to Houston from Nashville and was so excited to see a Gigi's here in Cypress. They are notorious for heaps of delicious icing and unique flavors. One that was different about my lack-luster experience at the Cypress location was that they keep cupcakes that don't sell overnight and then sell them the next day. YUCK. This may explain why the cupcakes were very dry despite the yummy icing. At $3.50 a pop, I expect the whole cupcake to be amazing, not just the icing. The $35.00 worth of cupcakes were a let down. The icing was the only reason I even gave the two stars I did. My advice would be to give away the extras at the end of the day and get out of that bad habit of not serving fres...

"We visited the Los Alamitos location this trip for late lunch, early dinner. My husband got an All American Beach Melt. It was a full pound cheeseburger on grilled Parmesan Sour Dough. He was delightfully overwhelmed! I decided to try the prime rib dinner because the prime rib dip is out of this world! I was extremely disappointed! The meat was cold and flavorless. The aujus again had no flavor. The creamy horseradish could have been sour cream, and it has absolutely no flavor at all, no zing. Our waitress was sweet but disappointing. All of our food came to the table at the same time. Our appetizer actually arrived after our entree plates. Our waitress did a vanishing act. She did not once return to the table. Our water and tea cups sat empty throughout our meal. Other servers took care of the tables to our right, and to our left, we remained completely ignored. After finishing our meals, we sat for about 15 20 minutes with my husband, trying to get anyone to pay attention to even our empty glasses. Finally, it appeared to be someone in management who asked if we were waiting for boxes. My husband told her we 'd like a check AND boxes so we can leave. She brought our check and 3 boxes, no questions or comments. My husband paid in cash, and she said, I 'll see you next time. He commented. There won 't be a next time. We enjoy the Foothill Ranch location, a much friendlier environment. Today 's lesson learned is that it was not a good idea to order steak at a sandwich shop."

"Our first visit to the restaurant last night came highly recommended, thanks to a friend's glowing review of their vegan menu. We were pretty excited and ordered two vegan meatball subs. The trouble began when we waited for nearly 25 minutes after placing our order. Our server, a guy named Ryan (I think), came over and told us they were all out of vegan meatballs. Naturally, we asked why it took so long for them to figure this out, which seemed to fluster poor Ryan a bit. However, he was polite throughout the conversation. We decided to switch our order to one regular meatball sub and a vegan eggplant sub, thinking all was well. But, surprise, surprise, Ryan returned a few minutes later to tell us they were also out of eggplant. At this point, we had been waiting for almost 40 minutes with no food in sight, so we asked for the check to pay for the soda my husband had been nursing. Here's why the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths: 1. Why in the world didn't the waitstaff know about these shortages in advance? It seems like basic communication within the restaurant was seriously lacking. Customers shouldn't be left hanging, wondering if they'll actually get what they ordered. 2. It's kind of baffling that Ryan was left to break the bad news not just once, but twice. You'd think the manager, who we saw chatting with other diners just a few feet away, would have taken the initiative to come over and speak to us directly. 3. I was made to feel like I should be really grateful they decided not to charge us for the Diet Coke my husband drank. Overall it was a terrible experience and no effort was made to rectify what happened. I obviously cannot comment on the food since we never recieved any. As for customer service...HORRIBLE!"
