"The chicken was over-seasoned and a bit dry. However, the turnip and kale greens were quite good, while the mac and cheese seemed past its prime. On the bright side, the cornbread was freshly baked and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. The dessert looked tempting but was excessively priced. I've attended both Soul Food events at Grand Central, but I think I’ll stick with Brown's for my soul food cravings. We were seated under a low ceiling to the left of the entrance, and the noise level was overwhelming; it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Thankfully, the noise subsided as the crowd thinned out. If I were asked to sit in that same spot on a busy night, I would definitely decline. Despite my mixed experience last night, I will still recommend Grand Central, as I've only tried it during the soul food events."

Nice little spot. Definitely not what I expected in terms of ambience for our anniversary dinner. Still, food was good and service was excellent. Pricey, indeed, but it seems that pricey is the norm around here so it was to be expected. Overall, great restaurant for casual dining not for a celebratory dinner.

Wanting to try somewhere new for dinner, we made a reservation at Grand Central. We were promptly greeted and seated. The service was very friendly and professional. My partner ordered the chicken milenese and I ordered the salmon. The food was just okay, nothing special. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong things, but we expected better for the price. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our wine. The music playing was top 40 radio hits and not great dinner music.

Caution: food portions are generous. We ordered two different salads. One was dinner sized and the other lunch sized. Both were ample and delicious. My salad was a bit over-dressed, but otherwise fresh and tasty. Our server was really great, even though we had him coming outdoors into the heat, as we were dining on the patio with our two dogs. First thing a lady (maybe the owner) told us was. Don't give up on us. Because she knew it was bad for us from the beginning.Food was great, but they forgot the cornbread that came with the meal. Our server was the bar back and we were the only ones with the bar back as our server. Our bar back server did what he could but he also had to maintain the bar.Dodged by every other server. DO NOT RECOMMEND.Will never go there again. Felt targeted because were a young couple, but no matter what we always tip good.
