"Horrible service every time my family goes there, this time we literally had to peak in the kitchen to find servers just to get a menu...then once food came out my mother in law stated she was supposed to get coleslaw an the second older lady server was like I don 't know I didn 't help you instead of saying let me grab your waitress real quick, we finally seen our younger waitress an she was like oh yeah you did get it no apology or nothing, me an my mother in law have been server 's our self, so we understand alot of things but hiding in the back? not even checking drinks, make sure your table is happy is the bare minimum a server should do. They were not busy either one gentleman at the bar an ourselves, an 2 mem that were on there way out an as we we were leaving an older couple sat down... so over workedor busy can not be the excuse !"

The barbecue was delicious, both the pork and the brisket. Our server was great, and we really enjoyed the corn nuggets as well.

Friends, if you want great smoked bbq in Crystal River!! Go to the mall and get hardwood smokehouse.... I've had the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, 1/2 chick, beans, macNchz, and more.....!! And it's all absolutely outstanding... Haven't even tried the sauce yet!

Great food. Had the brisket this time and pulled pork the last time we were here....both very good. My only complaint is the price of the soda $3.29 it is virtually highway robbery for 50 cents worth of soda. Other than that I'd return anytime but wouldn't order a soda. View menu

I waited nearly 10 minutes at the bar without seeing any staff. Eventually, one employee emerged from the back and went straight to a computer behind the bar, passing by me twice without acknowledging my presence. Another worker also came out for the same computer and then went back. I've been to this restaurant before and enjoyed the food, but given my experience this time, I won't be coming back.

During our stay in the area for fishing and scalloping, we decided to give this restaurant a try. The place has a charming atmosphere with wooden accents on the walls and a cozy bar. Our server was friendly and suggested the pulled pork on waffles, but I hesitated to try it. Instead, we all chose the pulled pork sandwich along with some smoked wings and a side of mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent, and we definitely plan on returning.

I am in town for work and wanted to try the local BBQ. This restaurant has to be the worst BBQ I've ever had. I ordered the brisket and burnt ends combo with corn nuggets and corn bread. The brisket was Extremely dry and doused with sauce that failed to cover up how dry and almost grainy the meat was. The burnt ends were soggy and tasteless. The corn nuggets tasted like they were pulled from the deep freezer after sitting frozen for years. Very disappointed with the quality of food. View menu

Don't let the location of this place deceive you; it’s tucked away inside the mall's main entrance. Our server was extremely friendly and even brewed us some fresh iced tea, as they don't usually get requests for unsweetened tea. We explored various items on the menu, ranging from pulled pork to ribs. Just a heads up, it takes a little while for the food to arrive, so be patient—it’s definitely worth the wait. And don’t miss the cornbread hoe cakes—they were fantastic! The baked beans with pork mixed in were outstanding as well. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about any of the dishes we tried. Do yourself a favor and stop by; you can even grab some takeout to enjoy on your boat at the la...

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The service was the worst I've ever encountered; the waitress seemed more focused on her personal life and her phone than on the customers. She wasn't friendly at all. The coleslaw was dry, and as a smokehouse, I expected more flavor, but the steak sandwich was bland—the sweet onions completely overshadowed the meat. The ribs were under-seasoned and even served cool to the touch. Surprisingly, we were the only patrons there, yet I could overhear the waitress chatting about her coworkers with another employee. I definitely do not recommend this place and won’t be returning. Cell phones should not be used while on the job; if you can’t take care...

"We arrived about 5 pm on a Sunday and had about a 20 minute wait. We tried sitting at the bar but it's pretty high compared to the seats we were sitting in.I wondered about this place since it's in a strip mall but it so exceeded expectations. We had a few encounters with several employees, hostess, waitress ours was named Heavenly and she really was a delight), manager I didn't catch her name when she told me cause it was loud with the kitchen doors opening), food runners, bar runner, bartender, and all of them were friendly. The placemats and online talk about everyone being treated like family. We saw and experienced that.We tried and loved the fish spread! They make it with smoked amberjack and habanero peppers. The heat isn't front and center. It appears at the end of the bite and not overpowering. The salads were fresh, cold and crisp with lettuce, tomatoes and bell peppers. My husband enjoyed the oysters on the half shell.I had the blackened grouper with steamed broccoli and my husband had the stuffed shrimp with steamed broccoli. The broccoli was cooked perfect and was a pretty green color. We asked for melted butter to pour over it. The grouper was cooked perfect and wasn't fishy tasting or smelling. It was nice and fresh off their boat s). The shrimp was wrapped in bacon with a bit of blue crab cake, then battered and fried. The coating adhered to the shrimp and stuffing and was a nice golden brown.Every bit of food we saw being carried to the tables, from appetizers to dessert, looked magnificent. They also have a fish counter where you can buy fresh seafood to take home and cook. We saw some seasonings, sauces and frozen prepackaged boudin in the case for sale also.By the time we had 2 entrees, 2 appetizers and a bottle of wine for $38 our total was over $100.We visited again, August 2023, about 5pm on a Sunday and had about a 20 minute wait just like in January 2023. We ordered the delicious fish spread again ?. We both ordered shrimp and grits. The waitress asked if we wanted cheese on top so we said sure. Cheese wasn't mentioned on the menu. They put lots of sautéed onions and bell peppers on top of the grits. So my husband scooped most of his off. The shrimp have a nice seasoning. They are served with the tales still on instead of mixed in with the grits like I've had at other places. Not that that's bad it's just an FYI for anybody who'd like to know ahead of time. My husband enjoyed the slice of warmed bourbon pecan pie. They make the pralines there. We bought 2 to bring home. They are packed full of pecans! So was the pecan pie. When we got the check the shrimp and grits were $24 a plate instead of $21 like the menu showed. I asked our waitress and she said she hasn't worked there that long and was told to ask if people want cheese but didn't know there's an extra charge. She spoke with the manager and they took the extra charge off. That was nice of them to do since the menu doesn't have that listed nor did the waitress know to tell us. Extra charge for cheese is commonplace in lots of restaurants however $3 for cheese is absolutely ridiculous!!!Dietary restrictions: The main menu says to ask about their gluten free menu.Parking: With the restaurant in a strip mall there is a big parking lot with room for small cars to 18 wheelers and vehicles pulling boats.Kid-friendliness: They had a couple things on the kids menu."
