"It had been more than a few years since my wife and I had eaten at Harolds. After checking the Yelp rating we were a little hesitant but we decided to give it a shot, and I'm very glad that we did. We both had basically the same meal and we were both pleased. We started with an excellent cream of broccoli soup which along with Italian bread arrived less than five minutes after we ordered. Just as we finished the soup our attentive server brought out our salads, mine with blue cheese and hers with balsamic vinaigrette. For our main course we chose one of the house specials, pan fried haddock. The large fillet was cooked to perfection, moist and meaty. For a starch side I had a more than adequate potato salad and my wife had the baked potato. We were served more than we could eat so we passed on dessert. We will definitely come back again soon."

The best food in the area with a fantastic staff! My last dinner here was 3 years ago, but now it seems that they close at 5 pm. It's confusing that everything still mentions dinner on their signage. Are they only serving breakfast and lunch now?

I've lived in NYC, Tucson AZ, and currently DC but have always called Upstate NY (Gloversville in particular) home. Of the many excellent restaurants I have visited, I must say Harold's could hold it's own in any city and it is so great to have such a hidden gem in my hometown. You will not be disappointed in the service, food, prices, and especially the dessert. The varieties of cream pies heavenly.

Yes, the price is a little high BUT the portions are HUGE and honestly, this is the best steak and fish in town. Get the ribeye with mushrooms. It's truly amazing! Or the pan-fried haddock, which is out of this world! If I don't make it myself and I want something a little nicer than just a regular meal, this is the place I go to every time. Harold's is a true staple in Gloversville and one of the few restaurants who kept the quality the same during the entire pandemic. A big thanks to the team here!
