"Amazing experience! I had the carne asada burrito, and it was delicious, featuring sweet onions and guacamole. I also added the green salsa, which was just the right amount of spicy and truly special. I arrived at 1:30 and there was no line. The staff member was friendly and helpful, making me feel like I was in Mexico. Speaking in Spanish may have added to the experience. I'm so glad to have discovered this new spot!"

Really wanted to like this place but they gave me the wrong meat on my asada fries. Not to mention it was tough and the fries were under done. Really disappointed.

I always get a Beans Cheese and add rice to it. Very simple but super good. You know a taco shopie good based if their beans are good. Both salsas roja and verde are so good!

I ordered a full-size carne fries without guacamole, and they were absolutely amazing! At $16.00 for the full size, it was definitely worth it. There was so much food left over, even though we shared it between two people. Thank you! View menu

One of the best shrimp burritos I ever had and the portion is plentiful. The green salsa just elevates the flavor even further. Tried the Cabeza taco and it is flavorful and melt in your mouth goodness. The parking lot is small, but finding Street parking isn't too bad.

When people mention that the portions are enormous, they really mean it—especially when it comes to the tacos. For just $4, you receive one taco that’s so generous you could easily split it into four smaller ones and still have leftover meat. The flavors are quite enjoyable, too.

I discovered another hidden gem just outside downtown. The nachos supreme and rolled tacos with rice and beans were absolutely delicious! The place tends to be busy and doesn't pick up the phone, but the food comes out quickly once you place your order. I definitely recommend giving it a try! View menu

The food is always delicious, but once again, they "forgot" the guacamole that I paid extra for. They also messed up my other order by leaving out the guacamole that was supposed to be included and giving me extra of something I had asked to have removed. Humberto’s, you’re not making a good impression!

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! We ordered breakfast burritos, specifically the sausage and steak with potatoes added. They were HUGE and absolutely delicious! We also tried the horchata, which was great too. When we arrived to pick up our food, we were there a bit early, but a friendly staff member was already packing our order. The horchata was incredibly tasty as well!

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
